VEstax Typhoon
Hey all,
Does anyone Know or have the typhoon mapping yet? I have a spin and want to use the mapping from the typhoon, just for the fact that im not savvy on controllerism, I just use mine as I would 2 turntables and a mixer, and DJAY is a great program I just want to use traktor!. any help would be great. Thanks.
If you have the SPin, why don’t you use the Spin mapping ?

I downloaded the Typhoon mapping from the Vestax site and have used it with the Spin. Although Oldfashioned’s mapping is fantastic, I’ve opted for the more basic mapping(typhoon) and use my x1 for everything else. For some reason, the filter doesn’t work on the Spin w/ the Typhoon mapping.
That whole Spin/Typhoon thing confuses me. Aren’t they the same just come with different software? To lazy to do the research my self.

I know that, but are the controllers really different other than looks and what software they come with?
The Typhoon is not Windows only, rather it is a Spin that comes with a windows ASIO driver. The Vestax website lists it as being for both Mac and Win. The big difference between it and the Spin is the aesthetic, the ASIO driver (not needed for Mac) and the bundled software: Spin comes with DJay and Typhoon Traktor LE.
What is needed is a DJTT overlay for that HORRIBLE fake carbon-fibre on the Typhoon (too bad you are stuck with red too).
Does anyone know if the sound card is the same as the VCI-300 (maya44)?
Tempted to get one to goof around with, but I’m a bit top heavy on controllers at the moment!! I think the Typhoon/Spin with an X1 is a good way to go, but would go the Spin+MidiFighter myself
