Vestax VCI 100 Vista Problem

Vestax VCI 100 Vista Problem

Right so, got my Vestax VCI 100 MIDI Controller now, but no sound card yet for a few days. Put the USB into my pc and it got drivers for it it seemed and the lights on the controller began working, but when I try and use it with Traktor or Virtual DJ its not recognised? Any ideas? Im using vista SP 2 btw.

Is there anyway to check that vista is recognising it as a MIDI controller and not something else?
Is there anyway to check if the drivers installed properly or are still there?

Any help welcome thanks.

Do you have a logitech camera installed on your computer, this is known to interfere with the VCI-100?

Don’t know any Vee-tax… Now Vestax I do know.

Have you marked it in Traktor Preferences → Midi seup?

You will need to tell Traktor to use this midi device by marking it as active.

I now have a laptop, but when I plug the vestax vci 100 into the usb port, the lights wont come on and it wont get the drivers. Im using vista sp2. The vestax works on my dekstop fine though which is using vista sp2 also.

Hey Smudge,

I had this same issue with Windows 7 and my laptop. I had to do a factory reinstall of the computer’s software (like it was from the store). Then, before doing anything else, I plugged my VCi-100 and other midi controllers in, and they both booted right up.

Unless you’ve found a solution, that might be the only way to get it working. Hope it does!
