Vocal Slide Effect (PLEASE HELP!!)

Hey guys, hope all’s good.

Been trying to crack the sound first heard at 0:39 here -

Not the main vocal line “we on the way home”, but the sliding, pitch modded sample over top of it. Any of you genius level producers know decent ways to achieve that effect without hideous artifacting, etc.?

The best way I know how to achieve that pitch modulation is to put the vocal sample onto a sampler, turn on glide and adjust the time. Make sure the vocal has a sustained node so when you play a note and another note on top of it, the vocal will pitch down or up to that second note
