VST w/ Waveform + Spectrum?

VST w/ Waveform + Spectrum?

Howdy!

Is there a VST available that can give me a waveform view that colors the points with the spectrum strength, similar to the view in Traktor?

I find that a lot of the time, sounds that look “pretty” in Traktor also tend to sound really good, but it is a pain to have to keep rendering, then loading the track into Traktor, just to see how it looks.

I could write one myself pretty easily, but I’d rather not do that if such a thing already exists.

Thanks!

Plenty over at KVR. But I doubt the colours will match the ones used in Traktor…

But - “pretty” and “good” are very subjective. Pretty/good to you won’t necessarily be pretty/good to me…

I spent a couple hours digging around trying a lot of different search terms, and couldn’t find anything quite like that view - though it can be hard to hit the right search term sometimes… was hoping someone else here might have already had a similar desire for analysis and have discovered it.

… and, yeah, all music production is subjective, but it has been a useful tool for me to have this view of my output since my own perspective is what I have available to me to make music that I think is good. Would be nice to improve the speed of the process.

(Having said that, I imaging somebody will nail the right search terms and find what I’m looking for on the first try, though. heh)

MMulitAnalyzer might do the trick? My demo expired, so I’m not sure if it does that specifically or not. Also Span by Voxengo maybe?

The stock Ableton one isn’t bad

Thanks for the replies. Not finding anything that does quite what I want, I guess I’ll have to make my own.

Izotope RX3

That is a great view… not quite what I was looking for, but I suspect I could work with it just fine.

Thanks!

Its is more for cleaning up glitches/ specific background noises etc, but in combination with Ozone it is a sure winner.

Bit on the expensive side, though… writing my own VST that only does what I’m looking for is only a day’s work, which puts the cost of the VST above the value of my time, I think.

I use the spectrum view in audition. Not as powerful as the dedicated on in RX but still very cool.

Has a similar tool to “spot heal” in photoshop which is great for isolated clicks or stuff like that
