What is the lightest DJ Software

Hello guys, i have a Budget laptop and i would like to mix music with Key-Lock activated but Traktor and Mixxx brings spikes and audio glitches when i turn it on. I can play without audio glitches and Traktor 2 at 512 ms but without Key-lock activated.

Windows 10
AMD A4-7210 Quad core @ 1.8 - 2.2 GHz
Radeon R3 @ 686Mhz
512 Mb Video dedicated
4 Gb RAM
DDJ-SB
M-Audio X-Session PRO

I tried everything,
System optimization
Reduced the Sample Rate to 1024 ms (even at higher the audio glitches)
So what DJ Software do you recommend for slow pc with manual MIDI mapping also ? thanks in advance.

Older version of Traktor?

If keylock is killing you, just disengage it? There are free keyfunders out there, so with a little preparation, you can avoid key clashes…

What version do you mean? i wish I could find a Traktor PRO (2008) version but outthere aren’t any.

I have prepared a playlist and it has tracks with many different tempos for example 118 - 124 and without keylock sounds strange

I have an old copy of traktor LE I can send you to try. PM me.

Thanks, but i think Traktor LE only works with NI Controllers: S2, S4, S8.

what optimisations have you done, if any?

One of your issues is that your specs dont match the minimum requirements to run win10, so even with ASIO, there’s not enough RAM available to run anything else.

You need to run msconfig and strip everything you can thats not required for the OS to run.

You also want to change your startup items to match the same.

If it is a laptop, go into your battery/performance settings and set your profile to have everything always running for performance.

Good luck.

Try Traktor Pro 2.6.8 as it’s substantially lighter than newer versions.

Do you have a legit copy of Traktor though? You should be able to log in in to your account at NI site and look up for older installers.

Any version before the one with Stem Deck support should be fine

If nothing works out I can give you full Traktor Pro 1.2.7 licence, I would just need a few days to find my old laptop and unregister the software for transfer.

But as they said, I think your problem is optimizing win10 so your DJ software has enough resources. I ran that old Traktor Pro 1.2.7 version in 4 decks, keylock on, all 4 fx banks on and on only 30% load on a crappy winXP, CentrinoDuo 1.73Mhz proc and 2 GB RAM. But, win was higly optimized, basically barebone OS (because I did a dual boot with normal OS on other partition for everyday use).

you could try serato scratch live, doesnt get any lighter than that
