What leads do I need?
I’ve just purchased these speakers…
I’m looking to buy an S4 next week. What leads will I need to link these up to my S4? Will I need a 4 to 2 phono lead?
Cheers

Looks like you’ll need 2x stereo RCA leads.
But I thought the thought the S4 only has one rca output?
The speakers have RCA outputs too. You could maybe use 1 mono RCA lead per speaker.

Sorry, could you explain how I would set it up then? 1 RCA lead to the S4 and speaker, then one to the other speaker?
You can either connect a pair of RCAs from your S4 to Speaker 1, then another pair of RCAs from Speaker 1 to Speaker 2.
Or, connect a single mono RCA from each output of your S4 to each speaker.
Brilliant, thanks.
I suspect option one will achieve the better sound.
Single RCA from L (White) out of S4 to left speaker, single RCA from R (Red) out of S4 to right speaker.
Simplesss
Not so simple. I can’t figure out if that’s a Stereo (2) RCA input or WTF?
I even read the manual. It says “for Mixer, CD player, etc.”
He might need to split to dual RCA’s. So he ends up with four.

You would only send stereo to one speaker if you only had one speaker, as he has 2 send left and right to corresponding speaker.
Sometimes sending stereo to one speaker causes frequencies to phase each other out aswell
It’s just a dumb speaker. It should have a mono line input also. If he only uses one half of the Stereo input he might only get one half the output power. He should test it out.
Using only ONE speaker set the gain level at 50% and hook up one channel to the Left (white) and listen to the SPL.
Then add the Right channel (Red). If the SPL goes up when he adds the right channel then he needs to send two channels to each speaker.
Ok, now I’m confused.
I thought makar1’s post was correct? An RCA cable from speaker 1 to the S4, and another RCA cable from speaker 1 to speaker 2?
Ok, so at the minute I’ve bought these two leads…
The first to link up speaker one to my mac/iPod and then second to link up speaker 1 to speaker 2.
Is this correct?
The input labels on the back of the speakers are not labelled very well so I can’t be 100% sure without testing them, but yes those cables should do the job. You’ll need another RCA to RCA for your S4 if you don’t have one already.
Yes, I’ll purchase another when I get the controller.
Thanks Makar1.
looking at the backs of the speakers, this is the way to do it.
This is the soundest hypothesis.
Although the leads are a bit short (1.5 METERS). You will be placing the speakers only 3 METERS from each other maximum.
