Just curious what everyone else is gonna slurge on so I don’t feel too bad. Im getting all new DJTT chroma rcas, chroma caps, and a DJM900nx2! Im curious if anyone knows where I could get a good deal on a refurbished 900? Might try to pick up a DJS-1000 if i can find a good enough deal on a mixer

A crapload of synths. So much cool stuf came out this year. I would love a second Novation Peak too. Definitely a Korg Radias (cause i miss having one

I’m considering just getting one & using the dual layer function. …still trying to justify the cost though.

They are on sale everywhere for $999 right now until black friday. I had just one and used the dual layer function while I waited on the second one to come in. You will love it. I fell in love with the SC5000 when I just had one. :-p
I’m actually debating pair of 5000 primes or xdj-1000s at some point (have the 5000s gotten instant doubles yet? I’m kind of getting sick of having to use a computer to DJ). But, it won’t be this year.
It’s been ~6 years since I bought a new computer, and my primary machine is showing it’s age. So, that’s going to get replaced and the current/old one is going to wind up getting some storage upgrades with the long term goal or replacing my aging NAS with something that’s flash-based instead of HDD-based.

Awesome. They’re prettier than the pioneers. And the dual layer thing is cool. Looks like my next setup is going to be 2-3 of those and my 2016…just have to figure out when.
Tell me the dual layer thing is intuitive & straightforward.

I think I’m going to take the plunge and get a Prime setup with the 5000M’s in the next few days. I’m in the UK though and the x1800 hasn’t dropped in price that much.

I’m thinking about getting one SC5000(M) to replace my laptop based gig setup. Easy to put in any booth, dual layer gives me two decks and takes equal space as laptop+controller.
That’s my thinking too. An SC5000 with my Kontrol Z2 mixer. …& it gives me the flexibility to add my lappy for Traktor (using timecode from USB) if needed.
EDIT - & it looks like these can do midi after all. It’s not HID, but it will do for now.

Goddamn it. I really don’t need more shit, especially not thousand-dollar shit, but those Denons look sweet as hell. Can someone who has them please post all the terrible flaws they have until my temptation subsides…
There are no terrible flaws.
No Traktor HID
Slight difference in pitchbend on the jog wheel between forward and backward (which is preferrable personally).
It will get Traktor HID support. 5000M maybe not.
No “active loop” behaviour like in Traktor. Not possible to add rating to the tracks on the players or alter playlists. Quality control in factory seems substandard (a lot of small defects reported on the forum, from varying jogwheel tension to button LED lights) so wouldn’t reccommend ordering through post, open and inspect units in the store.
People complaining about roll off after 18kHz but I would say worry about that only if you are a bat.
Slow pace of upgrades (instead of regular small fixes).
Still not possible to link them with Engine Prime software for playback from laptop or just using the laptop screen for browsing. No possibility to use SC2000/addon controller for control over second layer.
Regular maintenance (replacing cue/play tact switches) is slow, not possible to order just the switches and do the service themselves.
Seriously I still believe in Denon but it may be a bit long i just hope the next firmware update are coming before christmas
