Whats your favorite genre to produce ?

So, whats your favorite genre you like to produce - you can only pick one !

Mine would be drum and bass - there’s something mighty satisfying about putting together a break(or layering breaks together), making a tasty roaring bassline patch and throwing them together !

Funnily enough the minute and half tune i made was D+B !

I think going forward i want to produce breakbeat but with some heavy D+B basslines !

glitchhop

i actually don´t really like the term and there are a lot of relations to dubstep … but as long as i stay on my “boombap” mission, i´ll prefer to put the hop in there and glitch it up.

i really like to wobble too, but 4/4 house music is just the way to go for me : )

I tend to crossover every once in a while.

D&B, glitch, hiphop, techno, minimal, deep/house, progressive.

What happened with “You can only pick one”?

If I had to just pick one I would have to say Tech-house though I have not yet produce any tech house track that I really really love

I never get to finish a song but usually I have some great idea which gets lost somewhere in the middle of production.
I maybe start a trance song and then I suddenly hear some awesome bassline or so in my head and decide it doesn’t go with a trance song and then start a new project with that bassline. Ends up being some techno ‘song’. Or maybe rather a loop because it’s so short :stuck_out_tongue:
as for favourite? not sure but I love trance

darkstep ftw !!!

Somebody strip that guy of his moderator badge and drop his post count to a noob level !! Jeeez did you not read the post … there can only be one choice! Tekki man … open your eyes! Just cuz your mod you dont get to pick more than everyone else hahaha

Yeah… I dropped the ‘only one option’ from the moment I finished reading Bento’s post.

True, but…

Nice one tekki :stuck_out_tongue:

Deep crunchy house!

I like producing dubstep because for whatever reason it’s what I do best.

electronic dance music… no real preference for any particular genre although lately i’ve been focusing more on dubstep, nu-disco, and electro breaks.

when i got into producing i really wanted to produce breaks. my goal is still to produce such a clear awesome sound like stanton warriors do it.

even though i feel like i’m not deep enough into producing yet to get what i am looking for. so i tried around a little and found it to be way easier to produce techno/house since you can get a very interesting sound using just a few instruments. the sound is then way cleaner which i like. i can really recommend beginners to play around with the standard 4/4 patterns and just throw a bassline, some percussion and some synths on it!

so for now i’ll have to go with techno even if thats far from my favorite genres (being dancehall, breakbeat, electro, drum n bass, … in that order)

i’m torn.

dnb vs. dubstep…

so dnbstep

hip hop… but i tend to use elements from DNB & Dubstep in the hiphop tunes.
