I dont get this itunes match feature, the website makes it seem like you never actually get the aac but you stream it in high quality, but thisisian makes it sound like they replace it for you? i have a huge collection of my dad’s rock and folk vinyl from the 60’s and 70’s that i’ve been ripping recently and even with his hi-fi table it wasn’t the best quality, this sounds like it could be worthwhile!
Just sold Mahadeva to some Greek bloke. Shame as I would have ripped it for you. I would definitely consider converting what you have yourself using a good quality cart.
On a side note anyone know if there’s anywhere that you can join and swap vinyl rips so to speak? Not sure re the legitimacy of this however but I would be happy to rip for a rip. Please feel free to remove administrators if this is infringing rules.

[/quote]is that Frank Zappa?
A State of Trance Classics Albums would be a good place to start - I know not everything is technically trance, but there was a smaller range of genres to classify by back then hehehe.
Sure lots of tripe BUT a lot of the big ones in there as well that you’ll want from earlier era’s e.g. Josh Wink, Visons of Shiva, Age of Love, Chicane, jam and Spoon, LSD etc… plenty of the old “Hooj Choons”, sasha/digweed classics in there as well.
Pretty sure you can find the albums for very lil $
Pains me no end that much of my old collection will always most likely be unavailable to me unless I move back home (which I’m unlikely to do anytime soon) … most is in storage and most of the "“proper classics” are with some good friends. No way in hell I would afford to have it shipped to me even if I wanted to.
Paper Recordings were supposed to release their entire Back catalog recently as digital, hasn’t transpired yet though ![]()
Anyone seen a digital copy of Remake - Bladerunner/Magic Fly
I’ve got most of em - how much you gonna pay me ![]()
It is yeah ![]()
Yes, I think they may be being deliberately vague, so absolutely everybody doesn’t do this.
Once you’ve uploaded your music to the cloud. iTunes tries to match your tunes with songs already on its iTunes servers. …Just so we’re clear, we’re talking about their masters that they sell for download, rather than all the stuff that other people have uploaded.
The best way to see what’s been matched is to open iTunes, go to view/view options, & turn on “icloud download” & “iCloud status”.
Guarantee you don’t have Jam and Spoon - Odyssey To Anyoona (Original Mix) at good quality, 320kbs or higher, I would pay some serious money if you did!
Binary Finary!
That is all
is the version on Tripomatic Fairytales 2001 not the same as the vinyl release? i had that album on cd (and 2002). i got rid of all my cd collection but not before ripping anything i wanted to keep. i do have that in mp3 (or flac probably) but wanted to buy it from some download site so i can prove that i own it in case i ever needed to in the future…
Just been transported back in time whilst reading your song list. Basically a track list of my youth clubbing. I have a vast cd collection from 90s mainly trance, techno and some house. Including lots in your digital wish list. Thanks for the trip
back.
Thank you, its by no means extensive either, can think of loads of (trance) tunes that are missing from it. I kind of feel sorry for anyone under the age of about 24/25 who maybe don’t understand just how good the 90s were for dance music!
I think anyone who claims to love anything in the following list - (dubstep, Skrillex, Deadmau5, *any other current generic producer/dj playing similar sh**e) should be forced to sit in a darkened room and listen to every song on that list. If they still claim to love Skrillex, then there is no helping them!
Guarantee I do - used to have the CD single - ripped from that - you’re on about the 10 minute version without the vocal right?
i have a 320 of it too, my housemate and i ripped it from vinyl quite a while back, and i think it definately deserves a play this weekend ![]()
Discogs <<<<----- Lots and lots of old stuff here.
Some fav labels inc…harthouse, risin high, platipus, dragonfly…the list goes on…
I have found it on a cd since making that comment. £9 delivered on Amazon, bargain for such an amazing track! A load of other Jam & Spoon tracks on it too.
I dig thru iTunes when looking for old tunes, but the catch is that the mix on a compilation will often be a “radio” edit or some other weird version of the song. http://www.trackitdown.net/ has done me right on a couple songs that I thought were only bootlegged white label vinyl.
Have got it all on my Dropbox! Can share it with you ![]()
Hey RossH,
I know I’m posting almost a year later, but if you’re still looking for those classic Trance tracks from 90’s then do not look any further.
i’ve been collecting those rare tunes in digital format for the past 7 years and includes most of the tracks you mentioned in 320 kbps.
So I’ve added all the missing ID3 tags and organized everything (It was very tiresome by the way!) and uploaded it to my dropbox account.
I’m willing to share it with like minded souls as I know at the end of the day nothing can beat a classic ![]()
If you want a dropbox invite on your email, then email me on my Id : atmanfozdar@gmail.com and I’ll send you an invite ![]()
Cheers,
Atman
