Who loves deep house?

Hey everyone. My friend and I have started a Facebook page showcasing the deeper side of house music. Feel free to submit tracks and mixes as I’m always looking for something new.

Wouldn’t say I love it, but sometimes the deeper sounds are required for some background music. Will go check the page out as I have no idea about finding good deep house, I seem to have a habit of selecting bad deep house mixes to listen to lol

I think my mix would fit there quite well

Deep Tempo Five - 2013

There’s a LOT of deep houses in the South West of the UK right now:

..and I’m praying that a bunch of fields in Pilton will have dried out by the end of June :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

So deep house is like the new thing now isn’t it?

From elevators to the dance floor, deep house is taking the world by snore. I mean storm!

That depends if you mean ‘new thing’ or new ‘thing’.

The new ‘thing’
Everybody is all up on deep house. It’s everywheeeere

So should we stop loving the music we love because it’s everywhere? So what there’s a new mainstream side to it. I’m not gonna change my music taste just because more people like it.

It is everywhere. I don’t always agree with the labeling of most of the tracks that is regarded as deep house. It’s far from the 90’s stuff that was called deep house. However, it’s the best sub-genre of house out there atm. But who gives a fuck about genre labels anyway.

I don’t recall saying anything of the sort. It’s just an observation that deep house has become the new thing to like over the last little while.

Deep House is all the rage as it’s been commercialised to hell, thanks in part to shit acts like Disclosure and the rest of that sh*t

It’s been around and doing well in the underground for a very long time, it never really went away.

Though if your talking about house in the 90’s wasn’t really classed as deep house, though could be considered deep, like the sounds coming out of New Jersey/NY etc and then the early garage house sounds out of the uk.

To be honest half the stuff on Juno and other sites that is classed as deep house, isn’t in the slightest.

you what

Quite simple what I said really.

What you said was simple. Understanding how you can call a couple of kids who drew influences from different genres, created their own style and basically brought garage back shit, however, is not that easy.

They didn’t create there own style though did they, and brought garage back? Seriously. Don’t think so in the slightest. Fair play they play some good stuff in there DJ sets, but thats about it.

Deep is so subjective, and yeah, a lot of the stuff that’s classified as deep is just house to my simple ears.

But hey…us Americans can’t buy anything that’s not labeled. That makes it “generic”

As Kerri said it best, “house is house” and “there are two types of house, good house and bad house.”

Amen!

When I say style, I don’t mean a new genre, just their own sound. It’s not very often that you hear a Disclosure song and not know it’s them. (I do admit they have got a bit repetitive, but that’s not the point here)

As for bringing garage back, most of their music is quite garage-influenced which, combined with sneaking in garage tunes in their sets, did make garage and garage-like tracks fairly popular.
