Go to BeatPort/Traxsource and check the Deep House charts. Find something you like. Check the label for other artists. See what others have purchased. Rinse and Rrpeat. Come on man - this is like one half of DJing: searching high and low for the sick tunes!
Yeah, the genre classification can be off quite a bit sometimes, Beatport especially. For that sound, don’t shy away from their Tech House, Techno, Electronica, House, and Nu Disco charts, like Kwal mentioned.
Do a beatport/Youtube search on Dusky and follow every link from those pages…labels, people also bought, etc.
For styles similar to those you mentioned in particular, I’d stick with deep house and nu disco at beatport and traxsource. The other sub genres, while having some deepness, won’t usually have things in that style.
It’s an internet radio, with so many different channels. Listen to it as often as possible, spot tracks you like (using Shazam for example or track lists) and then head to Beatport or Traxsource or whatever else and check the tracks out. And then go from there, see what Beatport recommends, check the other artists through labels, etc. Deep House is amazing. I’m happy you enjoy it!
The thing is…deep house has different meanings to different people, and I’d go so far as to say there are a number of sub-genres of deep, at least according to my tiny mind. There’s funky deep, (which I would consider the examples posted here, some Maya Jane Coles, etc.) emotionally deep, (Ten Walls/Tale of Us, etc.) jazzy deep, (lot of Theo Parrish among many others) soulful deep (lots of old school deep house - Larry Herd, Kerri Chandler, Miguel Migs etc.) and Deep Tech. (which I don’t have many examples of other than Terry Lee Brown Jr)
This is how I’ve organized my vinyl and digital tracks but I’m sure there are many that would disagree with my classification. Deep is really a personal thing IMO. So listen to as much as possible including that thread and find the stuff that really moves you…because if you can close your eyes listening to it and be moved, then it’s deep.
yes, and when you find tracks you like on Beatport, check to see if they appear on any charts, and then click through to those charts and see what other tracks you like, then keep diggin
Personally I organise by genre then label, much easier to navigate. Deep Tech wise check stuff on Slices of Life, Fear of Flying, Fathers and Sons, some great stuff on those labels.
I am assuming you are one of the “trendy” EDM crowd who is jumping onto the next “trendy” genre? Try the Beatport Top 10, there will be plenty of “deep” in there for you soon enough
