Whoops!
Hey guys, I let one of my mates play with Traktor for a little while while I had to duck down the street this morning. Upon my return he had somehow managed to delete the “track collection” section! This deleted Preparation, Demo Tracks, Demo Loops, Demo one-shots and Scratch samples also!
So I’m wondering if anyone knows how I can get them back?
Thanks in advance
if he deleted the bits in traktor then it wouldn’t written to the .nml file til you shut down traktor. however i’m assuming you’ve already done that…?
if you haven’t, force traktor closed - as in dead stop, so it doesn’t save changes (pc - task manager > end process (processes tab) not sure how you would do it on a mac) then reload and all should hopefully be fine.
if you’ve already closed down, and traktor has saved changes to the collection.nml file, you’ll have to reimport everything into the collection. if you’re lucky the info from traktor will still be in the files.
yes the program had unfortunately been closed. I tried uninstalling Traktor then reinstalling, this didnt work as I had hoped. They’re still deleted. How do i re-import demo loops and samples? From NI website? Hmm… I hadn’t really played with them yet, but was sure they’d come in handy.
are they not still on hard drive then?
Your collection is backed up every time traktor closes so if you hadn’t reinstalled Traktor you simply could have loaded the most recent one. All of the loops and stuff are on the CD and installed when you did the reinstall.
