i gave up digweed at the Avalon…EXTENDED SET!!!..to play a local place that needed someone to play…i will play deep house early then break into the 80s 90s rap, disco, funk and soul about 10-10:30…havent decided what my midnight song is going to be…
Well, there are several auld lang syne remixes out there of course… and the Verve remixed collection has a good remix of Ella Fitzgerald’s “What are you doing new years eve”… but there’s really only one option here:
playing for a friends house party. i like playing for my friends so much more than at a club. just a whole different mood.

kinda last min but im pumped.

No gigs here, could have got something back where i’m from, but i’d rather stay in London.
Think i’m gonna convince the GF to stay here and go MOS or Fabric.
i’m spinning.. first it would have been just me on one floor (electro (swing), fidget, dubstep), but since some metalheads wanted a venue in the club, i will spin with 4 other guys (that play techhouse/minimal) on the other floor.. so maybe 2 instead of 8 hours.
i may set up my new macbook pro and vci in the front room and do a set for my little girl and the mrs lol… in all seriousness, next year im goin to be gettin or trying to get myself some gigs again, its been too many years now since i was out playing and i miss it so much… and now ive got all the right gear for a solid set up i think im ready to rock on out again

booked to do a local hotel, i come on after the band, about half twelve, till half two,
the band play popular soul and funk so the crowd should be moving and easy to keep on.
I’ll decide what to play when i see them, but i’m guessing party music of the cheddar variety.

same with mine. Quigley. i got it because there was one black kid in my fraternity and each year after the summer id come back wicked tanned (im half cuban) and he would call me a quigger as a joke so it just kinda stuck.

i was asked to play new years DAY, not eve, as the owner says his business will be better.
i, having never owned a bar, dont see how this is possible considering the volume of people wanting to party at ball-drop.
should i do this? i guess its stupid to debate - its double pay either way - but id rather not play to 10 bar flies instead of what i believe would be a packed house on nye.
