Windows 7 users: what sound card do you run?

It seems like a lot of the sound cards Ive researched have various issues with Windows 7 compatibility. So Im wondering what you guys are actually using and getting results with.

Most of the sound card discussions I read talk mostly about USB/Firewire units. To be honest I would really like a PCIe board since Im using a tower (not laptop). But I see very few with the digital dj in mind.

are you using 64bit windows 7 or 32?

maybe the issues with the AK1 were related to that…

Echo Audiofire 4 is working a treat, as is my presonus firebox - still having issues with my NI audio 4 but other users have it working on windows 7 fine

64 bit. It seems like almost all of the NI line have issues with W7.

nope, didn’t find any issues whatsoever with A8dj and W7 on multiple PCs…

All I can say is that nearly every card from NI, M-Audio and Presonus still have their W7 drivers in Beta testing. So it works for some people but way more are having problems. Go to their respective forums and title search “Windows 7” and look at the laundry list.

It should be expected with a new os. But W7 seems especially quirky.

I’m using my original MBox, which is working fine, alhough it only gives me 2 mono outs, but I’m a beginner, so it works fine for main mix and headphone cue.

No driver issues whatsoever. W7 64 bit, 2010 HP dv6.

I’m using a Novation Nio 2/4 and it works flawlessly on win7, very happy with

Running Windows 7 64bit on my 2009 Lenovo y450 and using an Maudio Fastrack Pro. Works perfectly with its Win 7 drivers.

can you say it works better than on XP or Vista? as I used this device in the past on multiple machines and had bit of trouble with it every now and then (especialy full no-sound drop-outs) while on XP or Vista.

I’ve got the Audio 4 DJ but to be honest I’m running Windows 7 32-bit. Never had a problem.

maybe this is sth for you: the ESI MAYA 44E
PCIx, 2 stereo outs, W7 drivers and its not very expensive.
But I honestly have no clue about how good/bad it works with traktor

I use an NI audio 2 DJ with win 7 pro 32bit on my lappy. The only issue i get is that the sound distorts occationally on normal use (not with traktor). Like i’ll be watching a film pause it for a bit come back and the sound decides to play back fuzzy. But this is easily cured with the turn off/on trick. I could use my laptops onboard sound to avoid this but it really doesn’t bother me that much.

I’ve had zero issues with win 7, audio 2 DJ and traktor.

A friend of mine uses an Audio 2 with Windows 7 home 64bit, no issues so far (he’s on traktor 3.4 atm).

I use the Audio Kontrol 1 + windows 7 x64

windows 7 32bit and since two weeks the 64 bit version with M-Audio Fast Track Pro. Works fine

I should note that I did get my AK1 working with my system. It took a fresh install of W7 though. There were some files associated with my first AK1 install that just wouldnt uninstall/delete. Its been functioning very well since then.

Audio 2 dj + Win 7 x64, had some issues at first (found out it was a DPC issue), i disabled wifi and the pops/cracks/skips went away. I found this app called wifioptimizer or something like that, now i can enjoy wifi and my audio2dj works fine.

I have the audio 4 running on win 7 32bit and an M-audio MobilePre , which has been nothing but problems for me. M-audio has horrible support too. I shot them a video ([ame]http://www.vimeo.com/9662513[/ame]) and got NO kind of answer to my problem. The audio 4 has been fine I guess, I’m still trying to figure out my latency settings to get rid of the crackling.
