Windows 7 x64 and Gamepad to Midi software

Windows 7 x64 and Gamepad to Midi software

anyone managed to get anything working at all? Literally every HID to Midi program I’ve tried doesn’t work in Win7… very frustrating… :disappointed:

don’t worry - I’m writing something in Autohotkey instead… will post something up when it’s done.

Don’t know about midi, but xpadder does the job just fine.
It maps joypad as keyboard buttons, so in traktor just use keyboard mapping instead of midi…

Then you loose all analogue functions.

ii used this joypad thing. its for a joystick works great with drums from RB and guitar hero controller

chrisw - what’s the name of the program?

its called JoytoKey http://joytokey.webs.com/screenshots.htm

Also milo i had a question. You seem to be pretty knowledgeable on the controller mod soldering part.

I have one of these.

if i opened this thing up and posted detailed pics would you give me some advice on what to solder where? Im thinking of using this to build a traktor mixer controller.

hah that controller is nuts… does it recognise the qwerty keyboard in Windows? You might have problems soldering buttons to the qwerty keyboard but the rest of it should be fairly easy to solder to. By all means, post some pix up of the circuit boards (both sides if possible). If I’m not able to help, someone else on here will I’m sure

Yeah that’s controller was a killer!

yeah i bet it will be but i have an uncle who said he would help me when he visits for christmas. with the soldering.

(thank god for relitives who have degrees in reverse engineering and electrical engineering lol)

also on the keyboard theres a shift key so u can shift the function. each key board button has an alternate function.

So for connecting faders. where would i connect them to?

Mil0 these run like 2.50$ american used ill see if i can find a couple and send them to you and oskars

cause you guys have done wonders so far. Also this does work like a normal keyboard.

That would be friggin’ awsome!

Robin Raydon posted this on the sticky at the top, just in case you missed it. It might just do the trick for you.

oskars any suggestions for brands of faders to look for i kinda want to ass knobs too but i really need just a cross fader and and 4 channel faders

OT: sorry for jacking ur thread Mil0 I
BTW i found 2 controllers im just waiting to save enough money to ship them to europe and bankok.
Cause like im trying to do this midi controller as a project for people on a budget. so im working with parts i have and 54$ lol

@ Chrisw
ALPS or Bournes faders. These are the only two I buy, and they haven’t failed me yet. . .For the crossfader (and $$), look into an Innofader or an EB Pro X-Fade, but check the specs (ohms) just in case.

Alpha faders and rotart pots are cheap, but they may give over time (used a line as a replacement on an older Vestax mixer once, many moons ago). . .lasted bout a year =(

yeah its a project budget controller
lol
