Wood Paint?

Wood Paint?

Ok, im buying a pair of pioneer speakers this week, (the ones with the white pads) but the black wood on the speakers has got quite abit of wear and tear and i want to basically refurb the wood so it looks new, has anyone got any tips?

What’s the finish is it a laminate or primed and painted wood

from the pic i got it seems like its laminate?

not sure if it would be better giving them a spray ?

Yeah that’s laminate - you can buy paint specially for laminates, doubt you’ll get black though..

ok thanks, ill see if i can find anything

I painted my speakers which are laminate I gave a light rub with wet and dry then some etching primer to give me a key for final spray

have you got a link to the paint you used?

The etching primer was from halfords and the spray I used was a Montana gold but only because I had it lying around

ok cheers man, soon as i get them im gonna have a closer look, personally thinking about just using black shoe polish on them and then giving them coat of clear vanish

been reading about it and the shoe polish covers marks etc

Each to there own I suppose doesn’t sound like a gd idea to me shoe polish is oil based never tried it but would of thought it would react with the clear coat but as said never tried it

Yeah boot polish sounds like a bad idea mate..

Get some of this and go funky colour(s)
