I am getting a loan of a Xone 92 and also watching the Chris Liebing how I play video , he has 2 aux working and the maschine running on one of the channels . Has he got the maschine plugged into the mic channel or into the send returns , if its returns how has he able to use the 2 aux for different effects.
Not sure but i think he has the maschine connected to the Mic input and the Effects to the Send/return. there is a little switch on the mixer on top of the mic channel to switch from Mic to Send/rtrn and back
.
The maschine is plugged into the mic/aux channels, not the send/return. He may have the send return routed into Maschine as well for effects, but the actual beats would definitely be on the mic/aux channels.
mate, I have a xone 92, and well, it is (for me) the best mixer on the market! Super sound quality, superb equalizers, tons of possibilities regarding connections, and tons of sound power!! DB4 also has that but… well you have to give it a try!!! I prefer the 92… but you could prefer DB4 depending on your mixing style. By the way, xone 92’s filters are a delight, dropping bombs and layering sounds is made easy by them.
first thoughts on the 92 are good , filters are great better than the db4 I think , sounds great , like the 4 band eq . Only played with it for about 1 hour so far .
Try hooking both mixers to a powerfull system (no sound coloring/eq), play some tunes and thumb the bass a bit…you will be surprised. If you do it with TT’s, the difference is even more amazing…
That’s what I thought myself 2 different mixers altogether , really like the 92 if I can workout how to get the aux send/ returns working through abelton I will give it a mix tonight . I have a audio 10 with channel 9/10 free do I route the aux and return through that channel or is there another way .
I have tried it like that do I set the input and output device in ableton to audio 10 or do I need sound flower or jack osx to route audio from traktor . Must be missing something been trying for 2 days to get this working.
audio doesn’t need to be routed from traktor as far as i know, just set the effect in and output in ableton to the corresponding soundcard in/output. (i didn’t test it since i still don’t use ableton since i cannot afford it right now).
what i found out when connecting my maschine to the return channel is that you have to turn the “duck” switch on top of the fader to ON, and also make sure you have “return” selected as input on top of the channel.
Sorry for being a complete idiot with these question but I have set the audio 10 as the input output device and selected the 9/10 as the inputs for the aux and 9/10 for the output return , got the fader up , rtn selected still nothing when I turn the aux knob on , I take it the effect routing is selected on the audio from then ext in and then the ports.
got the “duck” switch on?
i don’t know how well you know ableton, but is the selected effect working when put on a track in ableton?
maybe also try changing the aux from pre to post?
are the cables working?
i’m just making wild guesses here…
