It could be true provided these people own property and other businesses. If they were to liquidate, they could be worth that much. Owning such things bumped me up increasing my net worth.
Yeah, this just isn’t based on what they get paid at shows, it’s a grand total of EVRYTHING. Something are harder to put a price on than others (like Bedrock, it probably doesn’t make that much as a label, but what it does for Diggers and everyone else involved is way more valuable then just the record sales).
Who knows what he did with all his money back in the day. Maybe he pissed it away when he was younger and doesn’t have much to invest these days as he really hasn’t done anything worth mentioning I’d say.
Granted I don’t follow mau5trap that much and didn’t do any research before posting this comment but I feel like his numbers are way off compared to others on the list.
Owning a record company has to land you well above the artists’ signed to your record label.
These numbers do seem kind of like guess work though, Outside of maybe the top few earners…
Skrillex has been paid 15 million $ in 2011 so why should he only be worth 8 million? I think only calculating what people would pay for all these musician’s copyrights and intellectual property is missing the point a bit. Imho it would be much more interesting to estimate which amounts of money these DJs may make during the next 5 years.
Tracks like Sandstorm would be like a Golden Goose for royalties..
