I’m not sure who started calling these APC80s, but if it is an APC40 and an APC20, wouldn’t it be more appropriate to call it an APC60? APC80 would be two APC40s or an APC40 and two APC20s or 4 APC20s ![]()
our good friend controlled demolition (he´s also on the forums - ctrld) invented the apc80. ![]()
I still havent seen one of these been put to good use yet. Every demo I’ve seen has just had the apc40 part been used with the 20 side ignored! Would love to see a full demo as I’d love to make one of these!
But 40 + 20 = 60 ![]()
But 2(8 x 5) = 80 :U
Edit: I also wonder how his live sets are arranged. ![]()
But 8x5=40 so why is it called an APC20? ![]()
Because.
Well, why the fuck not?
I like his GUI more than the controller, green waveform seems useful, might try to find out how he did that.
He’s also using maschine, not sure what half of it does though.
Its called the APC80 because you have control over 80 clips at one time.
Yeah I was going to say, I would love to get mine to look like that.
http://sonictransfer.com/ableton-live-skins/index.php?cmd=top hmm would like to find his skin

I believe that is the answer you are looking for ![]()
I built the fucking thing and I call it the APC80. thank you ![]()
you already got your credits on the first page ![]()
wheres the like button? lol!
Yeah I have yet to see anyone use both sides. I personally have thought about it. Use the APC 40 side in ableton and apc 20 part in tracktor and route my traktor stuff into ableton. Use dummy clips for vst use on incomming Traktor audio. lol i have tons of ideas for this style of setup but dont want to pay 150 for a apc20, i paid 150 for my apc40. If i find a apc20 for 75 then you would see me sporting it.
It would be cool if someone made it so you only needed one power supply (possibly higher powered) and bridged them internally to power both sides and also internally put an unpowered usb hub/splitter so it only took up one USB port. Since the unit is powered using a Y splitter shouldn’t be an issue.
Justin and I are in the same year here at Wash U. I can ask him about his setup if any of y’all have questions.
How abouts do you go about using your apc80? Is it just a straight ableton set going on with a 16 channels going on or do you have something more funky going on?
I think the apc80 has so much potential for mfl!
