Akai LPD8 and Traktor Pro(All-in-one controls)

Akai LPD8 and Traktor Pro(All-in-one controls)

** 03/04/2010 - V1.2 mapping is up fixed Eq kills and some other bugs.

I tried to package as much into the mapping as I could. Keep in mind that I use a keyboard with hotkeys to load songs and for simple deck control (Play/pause, monitor select, and some crossfader control). Also note that when switching between programs on the LPD8 the knobs will snap to where the knob is currently(from the previous program youwer in) if you move it at all. If you do not touch it when you are in a new program it will not change it’s value.

You will need to load the presets contained in the attached Zip file through the Akai LPD8 software before loading the attached tsi in traktor. Note: if Traktor is open and reading your LPD8 the LPD8’s software will not be able to recognize that the controller is plugged in. Simply exit Traktor and the software will be able to read the LPD8 is running.

It was easy to hook lpd8 with virtual dj when it came to teaching settings. Traktor scratch pro already has some pre set so i have to go back and re-learn a lot of spots. makes for tedious work is all but i’ll get around to using at least the looping and cue presets here.

I cant get this too work. IN the lpd ediotor I press preset 1, load peset 1 and it says done in green, I do the same with the other 3 but when I load the tsi in traktor it doesnt even send out midi messages :S

hmm .. i am on TP 1.2.2 and some of the buttons seem mapped incorrectly. however the bigger issue is that the knobs seem t do all sorts of wacky things. like not only select an effect but also start play.

well got it to work in the end. something fishy happened with the preset loading. i did have to fix something on the EQ kill buttons. anyways its all working now. thx!

I have the same thing thats happening with mine, HOW DID U FIX IT?

hmmmm doesn’t work for TP 1.2.3? after uploading .tsi file i can only see keyboard input ??

thx

Thats Great! But I can´t download it -.-
can anyone help me?

Why I couldn´t download the files?

Hi out there!

Okay here is the deal. Im a knew on the hole dj’ing thing, and I got an Akai Lpd8 this week. I wanna use it as an FX controller for my Reloop Digital Jockey 2.

But I think I have the wrong “setup” for the editor (Software), because I’ve been following some guides, and the first thing I do, is to loade a certain preset, into the editor, then I open Traktor and add the maching TSI file to the Midi Setup.

But nothing happens, and it’s like Traktor isent responding or reacting when I push any pads on the Lpd. The blue Midi button in the top isen’t lighting up netiher. Or If I try to use “Learn” under the mapping, nothing is happening when I try to push some of the pads?

I would really appreciate if anyone could or would try to help me

Ok dudes, i had problems with my lpd8 with traktor pro BUT i realised that if the lpd8 is working with the editor or traktor IT WONT WORK WITH ANYTHING ELSE SO:

Once you have finished with the editor, close the editor programme THEN open traktor

And vica versa if you need to get into the editor from traktor

Always make sure the previous app is closed before you open the next…

Hope this helps…

Well the thing is I can’t finish with the editor, cause it would’t let me “commit upload”?
Nothing happens when i try…

Thats becuase you have traktor open while you are making modifications - here -

Close all progs - open editor - make your changes - upload to lpd8

NOW open traktor

Want to make some more changes?

CLOSE traktor - open lpd8 editor and repeat as above

simplez??:sunglasses:

not it’s not simpel.
The thing is that it is my pc, there can’t recognize my lpd, and therefore can’t i choose the correct USB device when I open the editor software.

In that case you dont have a problem with the lpd8 or traktor

you need to change forums go into a pc support forum and sort out your usb ports - wasting your time in here

okat thx

Does anyone want to explain how to map the hot cues to the lpd8?

I already have it acting as a looper I just want to use it to play hotcues too to play out some beats… :disappointed:

thanks

thanks for the mapping,
brilliant !

works great at TS Pro vers. 101070
