Its seeming ever more likely to me that we’re gonna get a Traktor-Pioneer thing the same way that its Rane-Serato…
serato is made by rane lol
edit: thats looks pretty cool, im glad pioneer have started working on stuff for laptop dj’s other than that complete joke recordbox.
Can’t see the pictures right now ![]()
I saw it over at skratchworx too:
you should probably tell the guys at the booth at muskimee. because the last time i talked to serato employees, they all worked for a small, independent company in New Zealand called Serato Audio Research.
my best guess is that the DJM-T1 is a updated version of the DJM-400 with a built in 2 ch audio card to compete with the Rane 57.
That’s what I was thinking but this post suggests it may be 4 decks
Did some digging in the system preferences and there is a ‘DJM-T1.tsi’ file present in the Application Support folder… so it isn’t just a mistake…
I did some digging around the TSI file, and found some pretty interesting stuff:
This controller could get very interesting… especially the sample deck control…
Nice.
I told you the DDJ-T1 was a joke. Maybe this one will be interesting.
Anyone want to bet on how expensive it’ll be? I’m betting 2 grand.
maybe something like this?
if it has sample control it would need way more knobs and buttons. could be intresting but will be way overpriced again ![]()
Think so too. ![]()
I love seeing Pio gear with a sync button ![]()
Gizmo thinks it’ll be a two channel mixer. I kinda want to agree.
it’ll cost about 2k at least. Overpriced as hell (and as usual)
Ok so technically they are different companies, but rane make the only audio interfaces that you can use with serato, so yes, at the very least they are a partnership, just with the software and hardware made by seperate teams. The comparison between rane/serato and pioneer/traktor was way off in that sense.
hm would be strange to make it a 2 channel mixer and then offer sample control (if the .tsi file was correct). but whats the target market? surely not the clubs as the nexus should cover that so I’m thinking no soundcard, only MIDI and a bit cheaper so it would be targeted at the “bedroom dj”…
@ashigari: disagree, I don’t think it would make sense for something with the name DJM-xxx that’s clearly going to be Traktor compatible not to have a soundcard.
Throw some stuff that looks like X1s on the sides of that thing and map them to control the sample decks…make it a digital mixer with inputs…give it a sound card…make it traktor certified…maybe add controls to control the loop recorder somewhere, probably above the file-loading knob thingie.
that’s my guess.
If it’s not ungodly expensive, that’s a pioneer product I could potentially get behind.
