Just bought a DJM-T1

Just bought a DJM-T1

I’ve had my Kontrol S4 since they were released, upgraded to TSP and used with my 1210s, a MF 3D and a launchpad. Even though it was a good setup I felt something was lacking.

I decided to go for a stand alone mixer and there are alot of choices out there. So after much deliberating I decided to go for a Pioneer DJM-T1.

Ordered it and it turned up yesterday. What a machine!

Everything about it just oozes quality and the layout for midi implementation is spot it. The sound quality is IMHO alot better than the S4 (It will only be used in external mixer mode) and I can just switch and play regular vinyl from scratch as and when I please. I always felt the sound was always lacking when trying to go through a live input on the S4 when playing vinyl.

I also love the faders, again IMHO better than anything I have used (I came from vinyl and analogue alongtime before I bought the S4).

For £550 it has to be the bargain of the century for mixers!

I have placed this on here as I have read several articles on whether to go for the Z2, T1 or Rane. Anyone that goes down the T1 route will not be dissappointed.

I have played with a Z2 and this is way better (IMO).

Anyone else having massive love for the DJM-T1?

I had one for a while, it is indeed a sick mixer. Switched to a Z2 because it had post fader fx, then Pioneer updated the T1 firmware to allow it :l

Post fader only works with internal mixer mode so not really a selling point for me as I wanted to use the external mixer side of things.
I find its built like a tank.
Do you miss the fact that you can control all of Traktor with the T1 but can’t with the Z2?
You could of always use post fader effects before the firmware update just by using your mouse!

HUGE!!! love for the t1. Its top of the heap when your talking traktor mixers.

DJM T1 Trouble

I have the Pioneer DJM T1 and I’ve had it since February of 2013. I also have 1210’s and a Macbook Pro. My problem is settings. I have yet to be able to use my mixer because I can’t get any sound out of it. I have it in external mode, and I have it on USB..what could I possibly be doing wrong??? Can someone PLEASE help me out??? choochoo72@comcast.net or 609-335-9466..Thanks To ANYONE In Advance

Always wanted one But trying to justify buying one when i already have an audio 10 and an x1 is quite hard

If I could find a bargain in UK I’d snap one up myself. I miss not having a Certified mixer just for the ease of it.

Using an S4 isn’t always ideal. I have one of those cheap DJTech DIF mixers and its fine for such a cheap mixer but I must have used it all of about 3 times cus I can never be bothered hooking up an NI soundcard.

So if anyone wants to buy a DJTech DIF mixer in UK hit me up.
Anyone selling a DJM T1 also hit me up.

Much love in this corner of the world also! Its a tank.

Proper Jealous! I badly want one of these to replace my old Stanton SK6 so I can have a TSP certified mixer in both my setups. My x1600 is amazing but it’s a pain having to keep swapping it between setups if i want to use Traktor with my smaller setup.

First world problems!

I noticed the other day that decks.co.uk no longer have them listed so I assume retailers must be on their last stock of them? Might have to pull the trigger soon…

Most places are out of stock yes however, Phase One DJ Store http://www.djanddiscostuff.com/ based in Darlington contacted Pioneer for me and Pioneer still have a few left. They ordered one for me, it turned up and I’m a very happy man.

If you want one I can highly recommend contacting Mike there on 01325 480507.

Cheers for that, i’ll have to have a dig around in my wallet.

It’s always difficult when it’s something I ‘want’ rather than ‘need’!

Question for UK owners of the T1. Did it come with a UK 3 pin plug or does it come with a US 2 prong jobbie..?

Mine came with a Uk 3 pin and a 2 pin.
If it helps box was marked DJM-T1 - UK and the manufacture date of mine was July 2013.

Why do you ask?

The T1 uses a standard kettle lead, which may be 2 prong on the mixer to help prevent ground loops.

Reason is that I have seen one for sale and the seller says it comes with a US 2 pin plug so even though it’s on sale in UK I think it was originally bought from the US.
From my reading of the product page It should be just a case of getting a US to UK convertor as any T1 will run on 240v - 120v so it shouldn’t matter and there wouldn’t be any ground loop.

If it really does work at 240v, then all you need is a British kettle lead (C13).

The manual on the US site states that the power requirements are 120V, whereas the UK manual states 220-240V. I haven’t seen anything about the T1 working at 120-240v on any pages.

Yeah on closer inspection the EU PDF says 230v or 120v.
I will have to ask the seller what the AC Input is. It should say 220-240 otherwise it is a US 120v version and this guys yanking my chain.

I have a very good friend of mine that had his for sale a month ago on ebay. It was removed before the auction ended. His was advertised as a US version that came with a converter to plug into UK power supply.

PM me whos selling it and I will see if its him and give you more details if I can.

The one i’ve seen is on an eBay store.

So did your mates US version function perfectly with a UK adapter?
The US Knowledge Base is pretty clear that it should be 120v although it will only draw as much power as is needed. US Power Consumption spec is 23w and UK is 25w.

Is this your guy:

Looks like a voltage converter is included in that auction, which is fine for home use, but a hassle for gigs. There are some new T1s on Ebay aren’t there?
