Currently we just have albumart tagging but we will be turning on the actual tag edit functionality soon. I would like the app to just do all that for you but we will put in a normal editor as well. I want it to have some pretty advanced features so it will likely not be in the app till 1.9-2.0.

(quick update) we are currently working on an advanced file renaming feature for 1.6 so from here on out when the app downloads your tracks it will rename along with sorting them how ever you like :slight_smile: Ill post the full feature set in the next few days.

I was having random loading issues, meaning the player would load a song and not play it unless you added it again to the list. 1 every 20 tracks or so. No matter if I was picking random tunes or relistening to the crate.

Photo told me he had this behaviour sometimes on the site, translating the issue to Beatport’s database, but I never experienced it as often.

Which build are you currently using?

I noticed this happening a bit more sense they launched the new beta site. Usually this is due to them messing with the API.

20-4. The 24-4 (night build) won’t boot for me (as in click and nothing happens)

Did you make sure 1.5.1 is not running? (they cant run at the same time)

Yup, straight from a fresh boot. I’ll try redownloading the app. I’m pretty sure the problem is on my side

Quick update on the whole not playing right away as i had it a bit wrong :wink:

translation the server you are getting the clip from is lagging a little bit.

let me know if you still get consistent delay throughout the rest of the week. also instead of reloading the track just wait a bit and see if it starts playing (which it should)

also can you open up terminal and ping geo-samples.beatport.com and send me the IP you get.

I’ve done that and sometimes it has started playing, other times though it didn’t before I got impatient.

The more I look in to this it would seem some of the servers that host the samples are worse then others. A Friend in cali has not had the issue at all “its actually a lot snappier then the website here”

Rupert has never really had the issue (in UK) where as I see it every now and then here (FL). I also noticed I don’t have the issue when i just let the app run through playlists like a radio (which is usually how i have it running all day). only when I skip fairly quickly through tracks and select stuff manually but really never any worse then the website.

Oh yea Chris did you have any issues running the 1.6 NB?

Average lag is around 180ms (what I normally get with online games). I’ll check if this prevails when I get home and compare with the flash and beta sites. I’m a quick jumper (2 secs per track unless I love it) so I might be pushing it a bit too much.

cool! I can haz camelot key and bpm info in there too pweez? :smiley:

All my files are renamed by mixed in key with key - bpm - filename.

Now we know beatport is bringing out key info… (although of course currently just actual music notes rather than camelot keys for bums like me who can’t be bothered to remember the circle of fifths :stuck_out_tongue:)

Yep its happening (along with wavforms) :stuck_out_tongue: just waiting to turn it all on. I’m curious as to the accuracy of beatports algorithm TBH.

(edit) we wont be doing whole Camelot thing as we have to pay them licensing so far as i know (crazy expensive) to even display that info.

(edit 2) I wanted to turn on key and bpm around december but couldn’t because we had to wait for beatport to announce it. Expect to see some other cool stuff in the future that I cant talk about yet :stuck_out_tongue:
