I have been waiting for iMessages on the Mac every since it came out for the iPhone.
I haven’t been home to install it yet, but I hope I can sign out or turn it off. I don’t want to get a whole bunch of txt’s on my screen during my sets. lol
You can turn iMessage off, its just an app that you launch. The beta is available now on the Mountain Lion page. Ive installed it, syncs to your Contact list.
Its Notification Center that you want to be able to turn off. Im sure you will be able to. That would get really annoying very quickly.
Agreed. It looks like an iOS-looking clone of Growl. I have several apps that use Growl notification…none of them have Growl support enabled because it’s a huge PITA.
If it’s configurable enough, though, I could see using it while DJing. Traktor (and maybe other stuff) can be set up to tweet your track list while you’re spinning. Having that happening and getting feedback at the same time would be cool while broadcasting…probably not in a club, though.
Besides, “I only accept requests through twitter” works a lot better than “go away,” and you get more twitter followers out of it…which makes it easier to sell yourself. And if their ideas don’t suck, you’ve got a list of tracks you can look into buying for your next gig…right there.
Started following you. That track is awesome. Everytime I play it, I get a few people ask me for the track info.
Thanks for the app information. I will be using this during my next set. I will also add a link to my mixlr page so people can see the song titles and listen too!
Safari finally got an omnibar (like Chrome’s) and it’s a big plus. I haven’t played with the DP too much but overall it feels quite snappy, a LOT more than Lion’s DP1 so it’s basically Lion Plus!. Only Issue i’ve had so far is that you need to enter your Live ID on each app even if you did on the setup window after installing and the back/forward swipe isn’t working always, the rest of the gestures work nicely.
A big plus is that the OS now remembers if you unselected the option “Reopen windows when logging back in”.
I’ll surely post any incompatibility issues I find with Traktor and Ableton like I did with Lion before it got released.
If you guys have something you’d want me to test just say so.
Unlike with Lion betas, Chrome is fully functional.
