Can I use my S4 as external Soundcard for my A&H DB4 mixer in order to use Timecode?

Hey Guys,

I am sorry for the stupid question but can I use my NI Traktor S4 as external Soundcard for my A&H DB4 mixer in order to use Timecode Vinyl with two Turntables without buying an expensive Audio 10 Soundcard? Besides, is it possible to run a Pioneer rmx 1000 unit through the S4, which is much easier than to connect it with the DB4? Where would I connect the speakers to? S4 Or DB4 …

Any help is much appreciated!!

Thank you!!

sell the S4, buy and A10, best way to go.
there is no point in having the bulkiness of the S4 if you already have the F1 and turntables and the DB4
Maybe change the F1 for an X1 for another type of control.

Yes, you can use the S4 as the interface, but you’ll only get 2 decks of input/output.

The RMX 1000 is designed to work in a Send/Return loop, which neither the S4 nor the DB4 has. There is a hack/workaround to get a pseudo-Send/Return on the DB4, but otherwise you’ll just have to put it on your Master Output.

So routing would go: Turntables > S4 > DB4 > RMX 1000 > Speakers

OP, do not follow these ridiculously unclear and dangerous instructions. You WILL mess up your system.

step by step this is the only way to have timecode working for about all devices :stuck_out_tongue:
working with my Xone 2D and also jackpilot ,i just replace a 4 by a 2 …simple

Do not post half baked instruction on hacking Traktor. It is not what the OP is asking for.

yo Karlos ,with all my respect i don’t call that a" hack " it’s just the right way to do something himself i play with my own traktor it’s not a hacked produce .. i don’t know why i take a scratch produce + a pro2 one +pro1 etc.. i am not available to do something i m looking to do just because anybody decide for me :stuck_out_tongue: in fact i m able by anyway to play like i want with my material & not hacked produces
hug ;D

dj wo k - damn your posts are fun to read! You sound like a happy guy that is just having fun with his gear!

Dude, also with respect, if you change things in in a Hex Editor you are technically hacking the software. Right or wrong it’s a hack.

Plus, this topic has been discussed to death on the forum and it is the moderators (all of us) that have decided that it does not belong here.
Not sure I get the point of your picture but if you think that it’s clever to mock someone who does this for free then you are mistaken…it’s just lazy. Are you calling me some kind of Nazi for upholding the rule of the forum. Think carefully before you answer. I don’t come here and do this stuff for free to take that kind of shit from anyone.

Please stay on topic.

knowledge is nothing if you have nobody to speak to ,that’s for what i m sharing the knowledge in respect to anybody who re looking for the right & truth

(ROBIN WOOD get out of my head) lol ^^

To the OP if you need more detailed instructions check here DIY Mod: Get A Mixer To Work With Traktor Scratch - DJ TechTools

Hacking the program is not “right” or “true”. It is a form of software piracy, so you should find somewhere else to share your “knowledge”.

Like on the DJ Tech tools blog?

If you happen to be a DJTT blog editor, then sure.

…(if i can ..before to be banned to here ,you are some serious SPAMMER ,you have nothing to interesting to say more ,you just have to close this thread because it is solved ) ;/

Regardless of whether the hack is “right” or “wrong”, you left out crucial steps in your confusing instructions. You are putting others’ systems at risk.

I have spoken with Dan about this, this is why the extra remarks on the bottom of the article came into play.
