Chroma Caps= Lame duck

Chroma Caps= Lame duck

Really super dissapointed with these. The old knobs DJTT had were far superior to these..

Yes the new ones feel great… yes they look cool
No They are not adjustable to fit your gear. You are stuck with DJTT way of making a cheaper lame duck knob. So typical to not mention on the product page.. oh and by the way… the point on the knob is fixed, unlike the other knobs which allowed you to adjust depending on your gear.

on the product page they only list what is compatible for how far the knob will sit on the encoder.

I just wish it would have mentioned something like “These knobs are not adjustable, they are fixed position”

Thanks for your useless input

well, I agree with IB. English is not my native language so it could be that, but I don’t understand anything of your rambling…

A knob has a line on it to indicate its direction(current value)

When controller/drum machine/mixer whatever has a value this line is used to let you know if a value is at 0(lowest point) to 100 (highest point)

following me yet?

If I look at a knobs position I should be able to tell what value it is at.
Is my Resonance all the way up, or is it all the way down

The original knobs from DJTT you could adjust to make sure the knob when fitted to the encoder is facing to the correct value.

The new ones do not allow this..

Very simple concept for someone to understand.. atleast if you have ever used a controller or volume knob on your stereo..

what are you using them on? it has been stated that they won’t work on most analog mixers like pioneer djm’s…

Where has it been stated? in the store?

I was going to use them on a Tempest drum machine

There have also been a bunch of posts on here about this. I think Xone was one of the first one’s to mention this.

in the sticky somewhere..

Mabey its just me.. but when Im in a store… I prefer that information to be present. Ultimately DJTT should provide this information.

The chart is not specifying whether the position is offset, only how it sits on the encoder.

Either way Im sending them back for a refund.. and going to order them from dj-face because those are more functional for all gear

So you expect a customer to read a sticky in the forum before he buys it in the store? Sounds like a fail to me.. So yeah, I agree with OP.

I don’t expect anything of the op, but if I was buying anything off the internet, yes I would read up on it first to find out if they fit my device as clearly on the table it shows they do not fit all devices… this tells me that the op took a risk on whether they would fit. just give them to a friend or sell them on ebay..

I took a risk assuming DJTT wouldnt produce a non adjustable knob just to save money. Totally my mistake.
Their chart for the knobs and the mixers/devices is a chart for how high or low they sit on the encoder.
I guess or assume DJTT has never encountered a piece of gear with the encoders offset using their new super knobs. american engineering vs german engineering

what does that mean?

sorry to be a jerk mate but you obviously don’t understand how to read tables

Yes - this means they fit
Yes^^ - these too
Yes** - these also fit
Yes>< - even these fit
No - this means they don’t fit

If I wanted to use these on a bit of kit that wasn’t listed if have asked before buying. Put this down to a lesson learned.

normally that means a balance of Form/Function

and at the bottom… the reasons for them not fitting? Why dont you read those carefully.. and tell me where they mention the knobs position will be offset…

You obviously dont even read what you post..

At this point you might consider what you want to get out of this thread. It’s clear that you are not happy with a product you purchased from DJTT but you seem to be rapidly moving from venting to being confrontational. You have 400+ posts on here that would indicate you see value in this community so why bother alienating people who may well have answers to problems you really want to get answers to in the future?

You might also consider contacting orders@djtechtools.com and nicely telling them about your disappointment. Regardless of who (if anyone) is at fault here, these guys tend to do the right thing by their customers.

I can only assume its because the knobs aren’t offset on any of the hardware in the list. Would be good to hear if anyone who has fitted these to one of the controllers listed has the same problem.
