So, like a lot of other people on here, you excepted a gig you know you’re not prepared for and just expect everyone else to do the work for you? Do you not know any other house/deep house DJ’s in the area where you could pass the gig off to them or are you just a greedy bastard who is only interested in playing out regardless of if you can handle the gig properly or not?

Why the fuck does it matter to you if people want to give me the names of some tunes?
How the fuck is it going to affect you if a small time DJ (me) who lives on the other side of the world is given a few heads up about some songs that are doing it for other people.
Times have changed, people dont need to spend ages digging in record shops or spending ages on websites such as beatport. Maybe you have time to do that, I don’t. I could go on many, many other music forums and be given loads of examples of good tunes. I happen to like (excluding yourself) a few of the posters on this forum.

I could care less where you’re from, it’s the principal of the matter. I just can’t believe that you have the audacity to come on here and ask such a thing, or the accept a gig you know full well you can’t deliver on instead of passing it off to some one else who could handle.
And I think your wrong mate, with how much music is out there and how readily available it is you need to spend more time than ever digging to find the true gems out there instead of playing the same old stuff as everyone else. If you don’t have the time to do something as necessary as digging and looking for tunes then maybe DJing isn’t for you.
One of the first, and oldest, prerequisites for being a DJ was having a love for the music and then wanting to share that love with all the people and and showing them those gems you spent time digging up. When I see threads like this it shows to me you have no love for the music (specific to the thread that is) and are only interested in stroking your own ego and playing the image of the “DJ”.

Digging is a prerequisite to being a DJ. If you don’t dig, you can’t be a DJ. As far as I’m concerned asking on a forum for some song suggestions is part of digging. Maybe not the way I choose to dig, but that doesn’t make it any less valid.
