DJ drops in a promo mix
If you guys are making up a promo mix to send to someone is it good or bad to include your dj drop at the beginning? Just looking for opinions.

Great way to prevent others from stealing your promo mixes, just don’t be that guy who puts one in every five minutes.
fuck not sure man but the mix would probably speak for itself if you had some sort of way saying who you are before hand like in the email subject or on your soundcloud page.
I like a short drop at the beginning & think it’s a good idea.
cant stand the every 5 min drop’s ruins it for me.
yeah, please don’t overuse it and for goodness sake, please make it sound like it fits in the set (villains do a very good job of this while jay lumen does not). or think of the essential mix drops, those are sometimes blended in pretty nicely.
they don’t bother me so much if they follow the above criteria, but in all honesty i’d much rather hear a set without it.
It would just be at the beginning of the set to identify myself really. Maybe one at the halfway mark. Nothing more…
i think just at the start is a great idea. personally i can’t listen to mixes where there’s stuff like that during the mix or where a radio style dj is talking over the top.
