DJs Needed for online radio!

DJs Needed for online radio!

I’m not sure if this is the correct place to post, please move if it isn’t.

Anyway, we’re currently in need of DJs for our Online Radio Station.
It’s launching next week so we’re trying to fill up a few more slots.

About
Right so a bit about us, like I said we’re opening next week, It’s a non-profit station if you like (It’s putting me out of pocket) so it’s a community based station not commercial. We currently have about 8 DJs/Presenters on the station doing between 1 and 6 hours a week. We play just about anything so there are no restrictions to genre.

What we’re looking for
A minimum of 1 hour a week
Someone reliable and consistant
Someone who owns and is confident using a mic
Capable of forwarding said software output to a shoutcast encoder

If we’ve still got your attention then send us the form below filled out to contact@steelcityfm.co.uk

along with a clip of yourself djing uploaded to a site of your choice (if possible)

the new one is almost done, weve just taken 2 dj’s but need a few more
you’re welcome to check out the site as it stands but itll be coming down in a few days
thanks for the quick reply

carl, good too see you on techtools. im your friday man DJ Durty Harry from the US doin the 3-5pm.

if i didn’t have to use a mic i’d be in. awful things

Best of luck m8, I already have mixes out on one radio station and been offered a live slot for another, so can’t take on any more  on top of that I also dislike mic’s lol

thanks for the replies everyone

also brad, i don’t expect excessive amounts of mic usage, just enough to mix it up a bit if you get what i mean

I don’t understand the need to use shoutcast though, are you planning on these mixes being performed live on the radio station?

how it normally works…

Not really, a number of online radio stations just have their DJs record the mixes and send them in via FTP or other means

Well I thought what the heck, I’ve applied to become a presenter also. Should be a bit of fun, should be able to spot the application from my name :stuck_out_tongue:

ok, ones i know of (and couple i did stuff for) were live

Id be interested if my internet connection was stable enough, im having some annoying dropouts though :disappointed:

e-mail sent…

Quite shocked at how much interest we’ve got back, I’m just reading and replying to all the emails now!

If you have any questions or want to know anything just let us know and I’ll reply when I can.

Cheers, Carl.

nice to see you made it over here, carl :sunglasses:

Only just!

Also just invested in a 200 slot, 320kbps server, so should get a nice crisp sound from the listeners end

Could use a couple more DJs if anyone’s interested!

Oof, that’s a fair old wack of bandwidth - you really going to fill it? Who’s playing the bills?

We use 64 slot @ 192 kbps, and seem to get by ok … 192kbps makes it easier to stream as well

yeah, but then you lose the audience interaction aspects which can be fun.
