I’ve been using my S4 for about 7 to 8 months now.
Just recently I’ve started noticing my FX 2 Knobs feel like they are pulling on the panel they are seated on. You can wiggle them all, makes a clicking sound. It feels like the plate they sit on is getting quite loose.
Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced the same issue?
I’m thinking of maybe re seating the knobs, slightly concerned of warranty. Wondering if maybe I should leave it to Native Instruments?
I wouldn’t just from personal experience with NI, they take forever and if you’re like me, that means money out of the pocket.
I sent in an audio 8 dj and it took a total of 3 months of emailing back and forth, shipping delays, finding a replacement, false promises, etc. Just an overall pain in the ass, I just ended up buying a new one so i could play gigs and received their replacement about a month after.
Yeah, damn. It’s times like these when I wish DJTT had a UK supplier. If I would of purchased it from UK, i’d just whip it back to the store and exchange. Bish Bash Bosh.
It’s hearing things like that reassures me I did the right thing in selling my S4 while I could of got similar money back I payed for it , in other words before I broke or worn it out. For much of it’s target market, the S4 build quality is more than except-able . But for the more hands on dj, heavily used plastic pots mounted directly on to the pcb will not have a long life. Time will tell, the S4 hasn’t been out for long but I fear NI production stream lining and profit maximising may well come back to haunt them in the future. It’s such shame they didn’t just use metal nutted pots, all the controls feel amazing out the box, a real hi quality feel, but over a short period of time, with plastic pots being used, the more frequently active rotary’s will unavoidably feel like shit compared to the lesser used controls. It would of “at least” been prudent to make the fx and filters rotaries out of hi quality parts!
Sorry I know that rant wasn’t any help, seems I’m still bitter about having to sell my S4.
