Hardcore is Not Dead

Hardcore is Not Dead

Ok so Im a gabba baby since the 90s and started collection vinyl from Rotterdam, Germany & UK. I started buying the cd collections when the came out and ripped a lot to itunes and still dig for mp3’s.

I xfer all my tunes to my iphoneand every now and then…a HAPPY hardcore track comes on and I nearly want to slam my iPhone and crush it. Is this normal? :rage:

ok ok, i get it happy hardcore is gabber hardcore cousin, but man. All that bubbly pitched up to 10% acapella with pianos that belong in J-pop.

I’m not a fan of Happy Hardcore, but what bothers me the most is all that awful Hardstyle that keeps creeping up at Gabba parties.

You’re too old JesC

Gabber…the old fast style? Or New Style?

My mate who is a successful Psy producer also makes some gabber. Pretty damn good!

Happy Hardcore…should never have been on your phone in the first place.

Bash your head against the wall..not the phone!

So…who is your fav Gabber producer?

I kinda like Robb Gee and those cats making the new style.

Paraphrased it for you.

hmm, hard one.

How does music you hate magically show up on your phone?

Gabber from Germany & UK… insert sad panda

fixed it for you!

Im a old school gabber hardcore head from L.A. But I feel my musical taste is from Holland. Rotterdam! My fave is the old school stuff from Euromaster, Neophyte (Bodylotion), The Viper, Issac, Rob Gee, Bass-D & King Mathew, Da Predator, Outblast, Angerfist. Im not too big on the UK hardcore.

But to explain the Happy HC on my iphone. I have terror traxx, RTC, Rotterdam, baby boom, dwarf, & mokum and every now and then a B-Side would be Happy HC.

All you need to know about gabba:

i dont mind hardstyle, as long as it true to its roots. I love the hardcore that samples hip hop or rap. NWA, Ice T, Dr Dre, Ice Cube, & M&M

edit - can forget the classic Public Enemy “BASS!”

*cant

Dude.

You know, I was really into the whole hardcore/gabber scene back when I first started going to shows. I never really followed it hard, just enjoyed it whenever it was played live.

Then I went through a large period of time of going to shows without it. And I was and still am a DnB/Dubstep guy through and through because of it.

But it’s been making a HUGE comeback at all of the New England shows. UK Hardcore, there’s a monthly hardcore night… and it’s just everywhere. And I fucking LOVE it. Hardstyle brings it up, then deep into the hardcore, drop something nostalgic, then bringing it back.

I can’t get enough. I’ve been trying to find more and more out about it, because of this. I’ve been listening to fear.fm non-stop lately getting ideas.

It’s bad lol.

Another thing that I love about the real hardcore scene, is that it’s true that people who really love the music are the ones who love it. It doesn’t have the “riders” that other genre’s can bring in. People who love hardcore, LOVE hardcore.

And while I tend more toward the grimier business, my wife is a huge fan of Happy Hardcore. It’s better than trance, which is the other thing she’s into. So I roll with it.

check out mid-town record in NL. they were the main distributors of HC from NL. they have alot of the back catlog stuff,.

Ahhhh, rejoicing the good old times of sniffing and picking vinyl at Mid-Town. (Their affiliate in Amsterdam at that time)

And JesC, wasn’t that the Euromasters?

I always think that its such a shame folks aren’t more into this kind of music, from 93 till 96 was some of the best music made from all corners of the globe and a lot of it is undiscovered and probably will remain that way…:roll eyes:

Two of the best tracks every committed to vinyl: Holland and America

Rob Gee

And

Dj Gizmo (not the one on here)

IF YA SOOOFT GETT LOSSSTTT

I don’t mind old-school Hardstyle, but the anthemlike “nu-style” (which is the only thing played at parties around here) is just awful. Same thing seems to be happening to Hardcore, I much prefer the older-school sounding stuff (like, early Thunderdome and what have you).

SHIIIIIIIIIIT!

You would get on SOOO well with my mate Damage. He has EVERY last release of Hardcore. I shit you not. I have never seen a CD collection like this.

We talking:

ALL the Thunderdomes
ALL the EarthQuakes
ALL the TerrorDrome
ALL the MystryLand

Its crazy!

I remember him and his beloved MOKUM vinyls back in the day!

HEHEHE…Ponytails and undercuts! Rotterdam HARDCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!

Neophyte and Robb Gee…these guys have been going for years…and STILL going strong!

Respect!
