Help me come up with a DJ name!

Hey DJTT:

I’ve been working on coming up with a DJ name. Although I’ve made progress, I would love to hear some of your insights. My real name, Paul Margiotis, is too long, hard to remember, difficult to pronounce, and doesn’t look all that great. I recently tried out a new name, Zidane, but didn’t like it because it’s not unique enough and causes confusion. There is no mistake about who Tiesto and James Bond are. I’m looking for something along these lines.

Now, I’m fairly confident that I’d like my first name to be James, which is my middle name and sounds better than Paul (to me). The surname is what’s tripping me up. A friend and I are throwing an Indiana Jones/neon tribal themed party and I’m really inspired by this. So, I’m looking for a surname that’s daring, edgy, and makes you think of an adventure or an environment, city, location, or the like. I thought about using “Quest,” but that sounds kind of cheesy… at least to me. I’ve also pondered over “West,” “North,” and “Cross,” but I’m skeptical.

Anyway, I would love to hear all of your suggestions. Thanks in advance for any help you all can give me.

  • Paul

whoah…we sound alot alike…I love that G house sound…

I shortened my last name down…

James Cross

James Jones

Paul Jones

I’d go see any of those DJ’s.

If you can’t come up with a suitable single-word moniker, stop sweating it and just use your own name.

Paul Margiotis sounds just fine.

If you’re good, people will remember it.

Seems to have worked out great for James Zabiela and Ricardo Villalobos.

I agree. Sounds good and memorable. I wouldn’t change it.

Or, you could do what Keith has done and be known as Pauliotis :open_mouth:hmy:

Yeah, stay with Paul Margiotis, sounds ace

I actually had a really good idea for James, but I think I have to keep that one to myself if I ever need a new moniker.

Your Mom.

I was thinking of making a dj collective with a name like that

Pauly M?

Ducks and runs

BEST. I loled.

James Kunt
James James
James Sellassie I

Thanks, dude. And I appreciate the follow on SoundCloud. I like your name because it’s short and catchy.

To me, James Cross sounds the best out of that list.

Sounds like a sex organ.

Second best. I almost loled.

Hmm, I guess you’re right, but I do like “James Cross” a lot. I’ll give it some more thought.

DJ Ball Bag

Indiana James

Paul Margo would be a more simplified and simple version of your name that’s short and catchy.
