HELP!!!!! Mono to Stereo?

HELP!!! Mono to Stereo?

I have a gig tomorrow, and I need help fast. My Traktor and Typhoon midi send out the audio as a mono. I need stereo for my soundboard to work. I was thinking this was an audio or output setting, but nothing shows audio mute active/deactive section. I am using Traktor LE, Vestax Typhoon midi controller, a PV 900 amp, and a variety of speakers.

PLEASE HELP!!!

What do you mean by ‘mono’. Are you not getting a signal from both outputs?
The Typhoon has its own soundcard

Have you checked the output routing in Preferences >Output Master L&R

Have you got the Pan (balance) on..?

There is a setting Preferecnces >Output Routing , that switches to mono. Uncheck that?

Im only getting a signal from the right output. the output master is set to Typhoon DJ-Controller Out 0 (left) and Typhoon DJ-Controller Out 1 (right).

I cant find the pan balance but it should be at its default setting (knowing that I never touched that).

What happens if you swap the jacks over on the cable. Is it still coming out of the right side..?

Did you try another cable?

What is your Monitor Output set to? You could be crossing Monitor and Master outs?

To see the Pan knob you need to show the Advanced Panel.
Click on the small Arrow under the Pitch Fader in the Decks.

The sound comes from the left speaker when i put the right side of the cable into the left output spot (red to white). The cables are fine, I swapped for three diff cables and those did the same thing.

And I only have settings in the Master Out, not the Output Monitor. Should there be something in the monitor?

I found the pan, it all is in its default state.

So if you put any side of the cable into the left output it works but if you put any side of the cable into the right output there is no sound???

Gotta eliminate things one by one.

Monitor out supplies the headphones usually but im not familiar with the Typhoon.

Can you hear the tracks in the headphones.

Any chance you could attach a screen shot of your Output Routing in Traktor Preferences.

Are both sets of LEDs flashing on the Typhoon.
Are both sides of the LED meters in Traktor flashing?

The right side has sound no matter what, It’s the left side that is “mute”. but its the opposite with the speakers, If I switch the ACR (whatever its called) cable from its normal position white/white red/red then the left speaker goes and the right one is “mute”. The LED lights on the midi controlled only show the right one going (even if i switch the cables).

I can hear it all through the headphones (left and right).

Right we are getting somewhere.
If the LEDs on the controller are only in one side then the controller is only receiving one channel from traktor (if the controller is working right).

What options do you have in Preferences>Output Routing, when you pull down the dialog for Master..? Please list all that you get.

Not connected
1: Typhoon DJ-Controller Out 0 (set into the left)
2: Typhoon DJ-Controller Out 1 (set into the Right)

and the mixing mode is set to internal (incase you needed to know).

The monitor has the same opitons as Master, but they are all set to Not Connected.

Right… that looks right to me.
You have sound in both channels in the headphones???

What about on the software.
Are both bars of the LED meter flashing when you play a track. They are at the top centre?

Have you checked all the obvious things that can trip people up.
All volume faders up.
No FX turned on.
All EQ up and not Killed.
Gain Up.

I can hear all the music that is being played in the headphones, both the left and the right side i can hear out of.

none of the obvious stuff is wrong or out of place or messed up.

and yes, the LED at the top center of the screen flash when I play the song/songs.

Just to be clear. There are 2 LED strips in the software are both active? They have the word MAIN next to them?

DId you try a different USB cable?

Yes, there are two LED strips, and they have the word main next to them. Both LED strips on the screen (in the program) light up when i play 1 or 2 songs.

Hmm, i dont know then. Has the Typhoon worked previously.

Is it the same on both decks..?

both decks are the exact same. and Typhoon has been doing this ever since i got it, but i never was concerned about it until now.

Well all i can think of is that its the controller.

if as you say, the right output works but the left doesnt then its not right.

Have you tried playing a track through the laptops internal soundcard. Does that play in stereo.
You can find out by using the Pan knob from side to side.

It plays stereo on my laptops soundcard.
