Help with mapping S2 and Launchpad and adjusting priority on effects

I was going through BeauBryte’s Traktor S2 Controller Mapping and I do like it for the jog wheel effects and a few other little tidbits. Through using a powered USB hub, I’m also using a Novation Launchpad with JWil’s mapping and I really like it for the Midifighter-esque Beatmasher layout and 8 Hot Cue and Sample pads.
The one major problem I’m having is that when I use the jog wheel effects, the parameters remain that way. So when it comes time to use the Beatmasher and other cool Gater effects, they’re no longer there and become the other effects were played on the jog wheels.
My question is - Can I set priorities on these effects and be able to use both the S2 and Launchpad? I think the combination would make for a killer mobile controllerist setup.
Hi mate, from your writings it sound like your launchpad mapping doesn’t have effect selectors programed for each IG effect buttons and you need to add it from controller manager.
Ok, I did check tsi and it seems selectors are mapped in so that is not issue we are dealing here. You didn’t say which version of traktor do you use. If it is 2.5 and above then you are missing “FX Store Preset” command which need to be mapped to all of FX on buttons in order to switch to programed parameter instantly with out needing to hit any of this buttons twice.
There is no effects priority between controllers tho. As long as they are all mapped in different MIDI channels and list of effects is in same order to both mappings you can consider it all like one big MIDI controller.
I was fiddling around with it again and my Cue for both decks weren’t working either. I had to cue songs using the Hotcues instead…I’m also not able to revert back to the JWil Launchpad mapping that acts as a Midifighter with the instant gratification map.
If anyone can take a look at this mapping - I’m trying to map both my Traktor S2 and Launchpad (I like the LP for the 8 Hot Cues and Instant Grat effects from JWill’s mapping from this site). However, once I imported the BeauBryte mapping for my S2 - the effects have all been changed and what not and there’s no instant grat effects available, the cue buttons don’t work on my S2, and the echo freeze on the LP doesn’t work.

Oh i forgot about jogFX there… Well you might need to re-arrange order in the list of effects or effect selectors in mapping. First make sure the both mappings are sharing the same order in list of effects and then edit one of mappings. Import BeauBryte’s mapping and go preferences > effects and capture effect order then import launchpad IG and edit list in same order, then dig into IG map and edit effect selectors.
I can find the IG effects mapping from the JWill’s Launchpad IG mapping and they’re mapped to the correct pads on my Launchpad. However, I can’t seem to find how BeauBryte’s Custom S2 mapping is finding its way to my pads on the Launchpad and then changing all of the effects settings.
For example, JWill’s mapping has the Beatmasher with 4 different parameters which I like to use on loops and in between transitions. When I load BeauBryte’s Custom S2 mapping, these IG effects all change to Delays, Flangers, and Filters that seem to come from that particular mapping - which is strange because it’s only meant for the S2 and not the Launchpad.
I want to be able to use some of the S2-specific mappings like the jog wheels effects, but have my Launchpad exclusively revert back to the IG effects. I was trying to figure out the effect selector but for some reason…it just didn’t really make sense on how it was overtaking the other mapping.

Guess I’m alright because I’ve got traktor mappings in little finger Tell you what, you can attach both mappings in reply and I’m gonna check it tomorrow and try to edit it for you and everybody else who uses this two mappings in combination. Also make sure to tell me which effect is loading instead of correct ones in launchpad mapping and I’ll see if that can be fixed.
This is a custom S2 mapping that was based off the DJ TechTools Custom S2 mapping that adds jog wheel effects and re-maps a couple of useful tidbits like the gain acting as a filter. I’ve noticed that the “Cue” doesn’t work unless I use one of the “HotCue” buttons - when I load in the other mapping for the Launchpad.
Everything other controls seem to be working okay without any issues.

So basically to reiterate what we were discussing, I’m trying to have the Instant Grat FX stay as the Instant Grat FX when pushing pads on the Launchpad. I also don’t want to lose the jog wheel effects as well…
Currently, the Instant Grat FX gets switched out to other effects when the jog wheel effects are used…and then stay that way when I try to use the Launchpad again. Definitely looks to be an effects selector issue which I just couldn’t figure out.
I made some tweaks to all effect selectors except for those in supercombos because I haven’t really ever mess with midifighter and for that reason can’t know which combo is using which effect so I could preset it. I knew only for masher+trans combo…
Wow! Awesome job on those tweaks! All of the Instant Grat FX are back and now the jog wheel effects work without changing all of the parameters when I go back on the Launchpad.
I was spent all morning going through the endless possibilities. The one major effect from the Instant Grat FX that I sorely needed back was the Echo Freeze / Trans Out and NOW it’s back!

Novation Launchpad with JWill’s Custom Instant Grat FX Mapping (Midi Fighter Style) - Controls IG effects, loop recorders, and hot cues.
Touch OSC with iPhone v3.1 template - Controls Deck C & D with effects *I mostly use this for visual reference in a dark booth, but I have been experimenting 3-4 decks on specific Tech House songs.

Stewe: I’m embarking on a similar adventure (using beaubrytes S2 mapping with Ean’s MF3D and DJTT MFPro). Regarding the tweaks you made to the effect selectors, can you shed some light on what I should be looking for in order to get these mappings working together?
