Mac book pro n mackie hr824’s mk2 ordered and in the process of being delivered.
Still 1 more house move 2 go but i got a very little area to setup a rig for the meantime
For those that didnt know my last pc slowly died on me until getting to the point i couldnt usr it any more, that certainly played a huge part in why i havent been around / making a whole lotta noise.
Anyway with things turning back to some form of normality ill be putting some time in, still deciding where thats going to be all spent however i do know ill be putting time back into creating a custom dj max 4 live patch… Exciting stuff !
CONGRATS on the laptop!! Hope you managed to save your sanity since our last chat.
How’s your girlfriend, hope she’s doing allright too?
Good times are coming when you can wind down doing something you love.
Yeah man, were doing good thanks Will be good to be able to release some pent up creativity, looking forward to mashing out some productions and diving back into creating a crazy dj setup in Ableton that will let me get out a lot of the ideas I’ve had in my head for a long time - waiting for NI (or anyone else for that matter) to release what my idea for a dj setup should be like just won’t happen so I’m keen on doing it myself and demonstrating some ideas that as far as i am aware just are not out there.
Given up talking about what my ideas are though as people previously have jacked my ideas and taken all the credit
Anyways… both the mac and the mackies arrived today !! super stoked, now i just need to make room to setup some of my rig in this pissy little room i am in (ill never be able to fit everything in here) and get coding.
Looking forward to demonstrating some epic new ideas with you all !
My computer was quite literally falling apart - bits were coming off and the thing was cronicly overheating despite my best attempts at fixing it.
DJTT turned into a grind when i was no longer able to create the art i wanted to - definitely burnt out there big time.
The GFC totally skrewed up my line of work - I’ve had to change industries (from new housing to virtually recession proof insurance work).
All of the above left me in a pretty bad mental state that was really no fun at all.
There was no way i would ever be able to afford a house going the way i was going - personally i see getting myself into a house of my own being one of the most important things i need to achieve to set myself up properly financially.
I moved a fair number of times in a short period - intact i still have 1 last move to make when i get a house of my own.
All thats been taken care of though pretty much -
Working in a different in industry that pays well and is very stable.
Got a deposit for a mortgage together (just waiting for the housing market here to finish crashing so i can swoop in on the bottom of the market).
Got a new reliable computer rig to create my art with.
Mentally I am in a much better state now my life has returned to something resembling normality.
Even got myself a nice GF I’m very happy with along the way - so things are looking up a lot more
Wait till i move out and create a proper studio room its going to be effin epic packed >=) going all out with soundproofing and some major acoustic treatment. It will all home grown DIY work however i have a thing about doing pretty much anything i lay my hands on to a very high quality finish. I actually do drywalling as the main part of my job now so i definitely have the skills to pull it off.
Ill definitely considering blogging the experience when i do get to that stage.
Yeah, when all craziness drops here, I plan to be DIY-ing my attic studio as well.
(Moved 2 times this year and became a dad again in October, so yeah, been a crazy year for me as well. )
