People who know me often say I’m crazy and one of my favourite movies is “Mystery Men”, in which a weapon named “Psychofrakulator” appears. That’s all. I thought it fits. (Also thanks to the complexity of the name, it’s ironically easy to remember. “Hey, it’s that Psychcofralaktamahoochie guy!”)

My DJ name is Steve Johnson, I got it from my real name, which is Stephan Janssen. During my year in the US as an exchange student people wouldn’t be able to pronounce my name without making it sound incredibly gay. So I told people to just call me Steve Johnson.
When I started thinking about a stage name this was the first thing that popped up. Since it has a background with a lot of memories, it wasn’t a tough choice.
steve johnson sounds like a badass 80’s detective/action hero.
I like the idea of using your initials as your DJ name, mine are SO, DJ SO sounds tight
I won’t stick with “slangemenneske” because only a country can say it right 
My good producer/dj friend who’s into electro house nowadays pokes the odd bit of fun at my preferred sound - stripped down house and techno, usually with clear beats and hats - calling it “boom-tchk”.*
So I shall be known as Bumtsch. At least it makes sense with regards to the german heritage in myself and the music I like to play, straight to the point! **
*He still enjoys raw techno so we’re cool

People used to call me DSharps in high school, cause my name is Dave Sharples. D# is also a note, and I thought that was cool. I’ve been thinking about Shrapnel too, which is almost an anagram of my last name. What do you guys think?
