how does dj techtools make money to pay writers?

Hey,

I noticed on the site that DJ Techtools is now willing to pay writers for articles etc.. and was wondering if someone could tell me how they make money? I haven’t noticed any advertising on the site and the main thing they seem to sell is the custom midi gear..

Don’t get me wrong, its an awesome site and I don’t think they should change a thing, but im curious as to how they make money apart from the midi gear and perhaps a few small links to music stores?

When we link to places other than DJTT we make absolutely no money. The only money the site makes is from the Store - the site gets no income through any other way.

So no payed reviews (with the expception of free gear to review with sometimes)

No advertising - no one pays to have a link on DJTT

We think that keeps things honest and increases the level of trust our users have in us - at least that the idea anyway.

By “no payed reviews” i mean that no one has ever payed DJTT any money to do a review of their product.

:eek:They probably should! I bought the Traktor Kontrol X1, Traktor Pro and CDJs because of articles on this site!

I was slightly confused when the original question was:-

The answer is:-

Through profits made by its online store.. I assume!

And the meth lab they got going on in the back office. That helps with funding too. But in a totally honest way.

Yeah the meth lab helps big time in keeping up the insane pace of things. :stuck_out_tongue:

seriously though- we use profits from the web-store to pay for the site and writers. Thats the way its always worked although that may need to change soon if we want to hire an editor and make the site even better.

Dont worry though- there wont be any ads, I have a plan!

Yeah I was wondering about that European department of DJTT as well.. I’d love to see that plan realized and I could help if needed (although I am ‘just a student’)
