I call thee DJ Hot Touch

If a guy wants to flick his knob, whats so bad about that?

The real question is… Where can I get that shirt?

your local walmart

My DJ superstore

:rage: I MAD

wtf was this mix?
for 6 minutes he pretty much had 1 sound that can be from 1 track and he went through a few records to achieve this… yeesh.. no variations really and no breakdowns… I call this Sleepy Trance

Dude, watch the whole Purposemaker video before daring criticize such a legend and pioneer. There is a lot more in music than epic breakdowns, I suggest you start listening to other types of electronic music, I can assure you it will be an enriching experience.

Almost this entire thread is laughable… Check out half of Ean Goldens vid’s. I’m not knocking the style as much as the hypocrisy of most people. To top it off by trying to use a video of the wizard to further make of fader/knob tapping? Wow.. you kids are fucking clueless.

Do a tenth of what he can do, and then speak. Until then, back to you toys, junior.

sobi do you really watch the videos from ean? he does not just reach out for the eq/linfader and checks with his fingers that the position is right.

the guy in the first vid (probably you following your reaction), just did nothing else than standard mixing of 2 tracks and constantly checking the status of the mixer with his fingers.
Maybe the Sub in the room is so strong that the knobs and faders get altered from the punches, or the quality of the mixer is so bad that his eyes are fooled so he needs his fingers to check upon the status.
From a more serious angle, he was probably just nervous and did this to make sure everything is alright.

Never the less it does look strange and to some people hilarious.

Holy fucking shit, how incredible. Now I can’t stop and have to watch the other parts as well :sunglasses:

I think its just to make it look like hes doing summit in between mixing aswell… He should take a leaf from dj bl3nds book and dance like a wanker…

Why all the hate guys? I didn’t watch the whole video but what he’s doing in the first transition is basically lowering the volume and EQing, even if it’s pretty minuscule before he takes the first track out completely. I don’t see the problem. He’d probably be better off with a high quality rotary mixer though, as he only wants to lower the volume ever so slightly it seems before fully killing it.

And don’t be hatin’ on his shirt either, I’d buy one in an instant. The ring however is a totally different story…

A tenth of what the OP video guy is doing? lol I do quite a lot more than derailed A-B mixing, spinbacks and abusing the flanger.

BUT!
Do YOU tap your knobs and fader and clip track? =p

No. Jeff Mills. The OP’s video is nothing out of the ordinary.

You got me wrong mate, I posted Mills’ video to show the fader tapping in an efficient way, not to flame him. My later reply to Muzikfreq confirms this.

I respect and admire the guys who came before us and paved the way for the rest.

This forum really starts to show a snobby tendency towards other people. First there was this thread about that dude that wears a DJTT shirt and got mocked and now this guy?

Sure, he’s not doing anything really, but what if it puts him in his mojo? inspires him to go on djing and eventually does learn to dj effectively? Who cares really? Is it worth making a hate-thread about him?
Let everybody do their own thing, please. At least he has the balls to put up videos on the net and show of his ‘skills’.

Although I must admit that shirt, the ring and the tacky music choice kinda gives him this image of 'hej, check me being the flashy dj while not doing anything

Hehe, classic communication errors being made here. Man, I have that dvd and it truly inspired me so much. Great for putting on the telly on an afterparty when you’re too baked to dj too!

^^^^this

i notice a lot of people talk a big game, but are just bedroom djs in the end. it’s always easy to be a critic when you never put yourself out there to be criticized.
