I give up! Someone please help with this remix deck Traktor mapping!

After countless hours of trying, I am finally giving up. I am beyond frustrated with trying to find out how to do such a simple mapping.

With 1 button I would like to capture a loop from a deck and trigger it. I cannot for the life of me find how to. The only way is to map a button to capture deck and then also map that same button to “play all slots”, however I do NOT want to play all slots, I only want to play ONE slot. How can I do this???

Use command > Slot capture / trigger / mute

yes, i did that. but you need to press that button TWICE in order to trigger the slot. i want something to capture and trigger with the push of ONE button.

any suggestions?

You might wanted to say “I need this two things on single button press” instead of not being more accurate

yes you’re right, i could have been more accurate.

does anyone know how to do these 2 functions with the push of 1 button? i can get it going if i use the old sample deck mapping “deck play” from traktor 2.1, however, the remix decks aren’t in sync when this mapping is in place.

Try this, leave the capture/ trigger/ mute command in place. Then add a retriever slot command to the same button, but check the box that says invert. This should to cause the button to capture the sample when pressed and trigger the sample upon releasing the button. Lemme know if it works!

Retrigger slot command*

hey c-lab!

that seemed to have worked! but now i have another issue. if i map the button next to it to “slot stop/delete/load”, that button becomes unresponsive. basically i can’t stop or delete that slot once its playing. any idea what to do?

I would try mapping stop/delete/load to the same button as the one that loads the sample, but set up a modifier in the stop/del/load command that requires u to press the shift button. This will save space and be a little easier to understand hopefully.

Hmmmm. I’m not too knowledgeable with modifiers. I could map the slot stop/delete to shift plus the button I mapped for capture and retrigger (which I am inverted as per your advice). Why would a modifier change the fact that I’m not able to stop or delete the slot if I took your mapping advice above for capture and retrigger?

I understand your problem now. Did u make sure that the stop/del/ load function is assigned to the correct deck and correct slot? That is the only reason I can imagine that it wouldn’t work.

Yup. I made sure. It’s very bizarre!

Open to some suggestions here people!

I’m guessing user error.

if i remove slot trigger, i can both capture a loop and delete it (with the use of a separate button). if i add slot retrigger, then i can no longer stop or delete it with slot stop/delete load. not sure how that’s user error.
