Traktor Remix Deck Mapping Questions

Traktor Remix Deck Mapping Questions

I am trying to do a mapping for remix deck and there is an entry called “Slot Capture/Trigger/Mute”. According to the manual I thought it will capture from the source track if there is still empty (or if the slot is empty), and trigger or mute if there is something loaded in the slot. However it doesn’t work as I thought. Even if I press the button I mapped to it in an empty slot, nothing happened. And if I load something, it did trigger or mute sometimes but not always.

Either I misunderstood the function or it doesn’t work actually. I tried searching on the web but without any luck. Can someone explain what this entry actually does?

Also I am mapping the cell states as well and it seems that if you trigger a cell, it then goes into “waiting” state, then before it’s triggered, you trigger another cell in the same slot, the first cell will stay in “waiting” state, does anyone has the same problem? Or should I do some other stuff to let it update?

Thanks in advance.

As far as the capture/trigger/mute thing…all I’ve tried to do was use the default (computer) keyboard mapping with it as described in the manual. And…100% of the time, it just flashes up that there was an error and doesn’t capture anything.

Triggering and muting works, though.

That is old command from Traktor Sample Decks (before the Remix)
Now with Remix Deck mappings available to all of us I never have use that command for anything really. Instead you can map a Cell Capture Modifier (hold mode) and make your second entry, Capture Source Selector (direct deck mode) and have paste in each cell directly with a dedicated pad.

Add In > Remix Deck > Direct Mapping > Cell Capture Modifier / type=button / mode=hold
Add In > Remix Deck > Capture Source Selector
type=button
mode=direct
value=deck target (capture from)
assignment=deck target (remix deck)

As for the feedback - I noticed this bug too. I’ve even go nuts and mapped entire modifier grid that actually runs the feedback correctly and didn’t prove to work ether..
I need to test this with F1 and see if this is the actual bug with midi or it could be a hid thing too.

The capture/cell/trigger command is useful if you don’t have a spare button to map the mute command itself separately for a slot.
As it must be assigned you’ll be limited to the 1st page anyway.
It works fine for me.

I have already mapped Cell Capture, just thought that it would be nice if I can capture from the source into a slot and it goes to an empty cell automatically instead of the need to go to page 3 to push a button for an empty cell. I mean it’s 1-button and 3- or 4- button clicks difference…Anyway, seems it doesn’t work, at least not as what I thought or wanted :unamused:

@Stewe glad that I’m not the only one who is going crazy and tries to get the feedback with all modifier stuff. and fortunately I asked before I started since when it comes to the mapping of Traktor I think everyone has some s or f words to say lol
