In need of resources for finding tracks to play at top 40 parties

In need of resources for finding tracks to play at top 40 parties

I’m mostly into dubstep, electro house, moombahton, and stuff like that. I have tons of different resources on the internet and can find a huge amount of new music in these styles all the time.

I don’t have sources to find music for top 40 style stuff, however, and need more of it due to the parties I’ll be djing. I heard this track at a party last night, and everyone loved it, but I would have never found out about it through any of the music websites I visit. If anyone can help me out with places to visit that I’ll hear about track releases in this style (besides Billboard), it would be really appreciated.

Doesn’t the fact that’s TOP 40 mean that you can buy it just about anywhere?

I might have worded it strange. Once I find a song I can find a place to buy it easily, but I’m looking for places similar to thissongissick.com that lets people know about new releases. And I don’t really mean literal top 40, but stuff with the same pop kind of sound

I go on local radio sites and find out what they’ve been playing for the entire day.

Spotify - I use it for all genres. You can dig deep on Spotify.

So if I wanted to find more music like the Cataracs, I would go to their page on Spotify, listen to a bunch of songs, then click through some of the similar artists, rinse, repeat.

Didn’t think of Spotify, seems like a great idea

So you are looking for a site that tells you about all he great new tunes that are released? Where’s the fun in that? Get digging and find it yourself dude. That’s half he fun of DJing!

try the recordpools

Lol go to itunes and buy everything on the main page.

But seriously try last.FM spotify…

Record pool are the way to go.

Check the comment section there as well, there is more suggestion from users.

listen to the radio! then if you hear something you might think that works, go on their website and look at the tracklistings.

Grab some electro/house remixes of songs. DJ Reidiculous has some good remixes

Why don’t you just go to billboard.com then look in top 40s? You can even go into the top club and dance billboard charts and find out what kind of stuff is being played there. It should give you a good idea of what you are looking for.
