Incorrect wave display on cdj 850
The problem with the cdj 850 wave display.
When using the artist search option to select tracks - The first track you select will display the correct waveform but every subsequent track you select, the waveform of the previous track is displayed, until u scroll down on the info screen and scroll back up, then it displays the correct track wave. It does not occur when selecting tracks with the track search option or the bpm search option, but it does occur when using the artist search option.
- The bpm can occasionally be affected in the same way, although not always, which is strange!
I Have highlighted this issue to pioneer uk customer support, who say they have successfully recreated the problem (which says to me it is an inherent problem with the player) and have passed on the information to the main European technical department.
Having read other forums this seems to have been an issue for a while now, but don’t think anyone has touched on the fact it only happens when using certain search options ie. Artist search. Possibly some of the other search options are affected, but i only use artist, track and bpm so im not sure! Out of artist, track and bpm search options the problem only occurs when using artist search to select tracks. Again from having read other forums previously, it seems to have been thought it was a problem with certain music files, which is not the case. This is a problem with the player itself.
I am waiting to hear back from pioneer as this is allegedly the first they have noticed this problem (which i find hard to believe) and they do not currently have a solution! I am anticipating being told that I will have to wait X months or years for a firmware update which may or may not eventually come!
I Would appreciate it if any other cdj 850 owners can check it out on their players, and add there weight to the issue and also to confirm this is a universal issue with this deck. Also might add I still think the 850 is a great piece of kit despite this minor annoyance.
