Just because someone has a Soundcloud page doesnt mean something is “taken”.
No you’re right he could still use it legally, but
already gone so maybe not a great idea - I think that was the point.

yeah it depends on the type of music. I think Riptide would be good if you play really aggressive stuff? tbh it mainly just makes me think of an old DOS game I played as a kid…
Sheesh, yeah. Legal or not, if I were choosing a name, I just wouldn’t want to pick the same one as someone who’s been releasing similar music commercially for several years. For one, it’s bad form. And secondly, I’d want to carve out my own identity.
I actually think Death By Cake would make for a decent name, especially if you’d be making remixes (the phrase “Death By Cake remix” rolls off the tongue really well).
But if every site with that name is taken whats the point.. haha. Unless your incredibly famous you wont be able to TM it either.
