Wife Bought Me the Newest 15" MBP Love it… Looking for some good decals to make good use of the Glowing Apple in front
Check etsy, there are hundreds.
Say what ?
Hundreds of decals. Like my portal one and the famous snow white poison apple.
Ok a genuine tip:
Shift + CMD + R = show in finder in itunes for drag into traktor.
Find i need that a fair bit ![]()
You can’t drag direct from itunes in traktor/serato on a mac like you can on a PC.
My one mac gripe
Oh yeah. forgot them.
Didnt know that one.
i got this one from them, love it, and many people have asked where i got it…
SUB ZERO from Mortal Kombat
oh and the sign i got custom made (also changes colour and flashes)
First, go to Apple’s website and look for the “Find out how” videos (Mac - Apple). They’re a good way to transition over, especially if you have a fair background in Windows. Also, if you have external storage (flash drives, USB, etc.) you need to have a look at what format you want them in. If you’re just using them with OS X, leave them HFS+. If you’re using them with OS X and Windows, you can either download third party software to let you use NTFS or HFS+ on both machines (which has some reliability issues) or you can format as FAT32 which lets you read and write from both OS’s easily but has a max file size of 4GB or so.
As a bunch of the people in here have said though, not much tweaking is required. I practice DJing with 15 tabs open in firefox, my wireless card on, outlook and 6 or 7 other programs running as well as Ableton for recording… And the mac handles it fine. On my Windows laptop if I even had my wireless card running it could cause audio dropout issues. Welcome to Lazy Island. We’re glad to have you.
Why not just use the itunes file tree in Traktor…?
I do mostly but I listen to and organise my music in iTunes. Also I like the artwork and just find iTunes easier to browse sometimes. Often I see a tune in my iTunes and want to drag it into traktor… The shortcut helps ![]()
Fair enough. I just wouldn’t want to be swapping back and forth between the two during a set.
Its not an issue. I browse some playlists in iTunes rather than Traktor cus i know my iTunes really well and i hate having the Traktor Browser tree open for like 9 miles long.
Also, at my Top 40 gig i sometimes buy tunes from iTunes and refresh the iTunes node to import them. Yes i do this mid-gig. Never had an issue.
