Krk Rokit powered RP8 G2

Krk Rokit powered RP8 G2

Sorry guys i will eventually stop asking questions but when your changing your setup theres so much choice (remember i am down sizing) so i have decided on the NI S4 now for the speakers £400 for the pair. KrK Rokit powered RP8 G2 they have awsom reviews, does anybody on here use these and whats peoples opinions or alternate options

A lot of people have the Rokits and love them. Myself included, altho I have the G1s.

Are the 8’s so much different from the 6’s for sound and quality

8’s will give you more bass and maybe be a little louder, but they’ll take up a lot more room. I have some Mackie 5’s and they thump just fine.

I’m not too sure on the 8’s. But I run an S4 with rokit 6’s and it sounds amazing in my bedroom environment. I find it as loud and bass heavy as I would want it.

well thats another side of the coin, rokit 6’s or 8’s i think it would be a case of going and listening to hear the difference

If you get the 6s, use the difference in price and get a subwoofer

I have the 8s and still use a subwoofer. My neighbors love me!!

what do you think would be better paka, the 8’s or the 6’s and sub

6’s and a sub are going to have better low end response than two 8’s by themselves by far.

Even the KRK 8’s only stretch down to 45hz on the low end, and that is there max low, they really do well in the 70-200hz range.

If you really want that clean sub-low extension, a separate sub is a must.

Ive got two dual 15" full range studio monitors, and a Panasonic tube amp to power them, I just don’t have a studio (bedroom) big enough to use them…

So I also have two 6" G2 Rockit’s and an obscene sub for the bedroom, I don’t ever run the sub any where close to its peak, but the low end is puts out is a dream…

Can’t disagree with any of this.

two cents: 6’s and sub for dedicated low-end.

i also have a question. what’s the difference between G1s and G2s? generation? and if so, what features do the G2s have that the G1s don’t?

G1’s had a passive, and an active version.

G2’s are all active.

G2’s have an updated “waveguide” shape for the tweeter, as well as a generally update shape (rounded looking, vs. the “box” that is a G1).

I’m fairly certain the actual specs for the components themselves are nearly identical (drivers, amp, crossover).

…but thats all off the top of my head.

would i need an amp to run the rokit sub

Nope, the KRK Sub is Active (self-powered)

And a very nice piece of kit if I do say so my self .

I don’t own one yet, because I am poor. But I have a few friends with them.

i don’t get it why everyone is into bass that much. in my opinion a separate sub for extra bass is only needed if you play in a large room or outdoors. if you have a massive bass but the highs/mids can’t keep up with it, it just doesn’t sound good. in my opinion thats the case for most pc soundsystems with separate subs. for a home setup where you don’t constantly play at club volume i would even prefer not to have a separate sub as i think that you get a more direct bass at lower volume.

i’m currently using syrincs m3-220 speakers which have a massive sub. i got a good deal on them and they sound good but at lower volume the bass could be clearer and more direct. i guess i will buy some krk g2 8 soon, listened to them at a friends and they sound amazing even at higher voulme.
