Logic Pro X, Pro Tools or Ableton?

Logic Pro X, Pro Tools or Ableton?

what do y’all use & why? if I may ask

Ableton because the workflow fits me.

Ableton, and have been using for a couple of years now, workflow suits me brilliantly.

Ableton. I have my reasons. :unamused:

Logic. Price and I know my way around their plugs like the back of my hand

Fruity Studio because I can bang out a beat instantly, the piano roll is the best in industry, and the GUI is modular(can move windows around where I like them).

I like Ableton and Bitwig for their flexibility. I can’t deal with Avid and iLok anymore, so no more Pro Tools for me.

Logic, because I learned how to use it.

I bounce between Ableton, Logic, Studio One, and Auria.

FTW! There is no substitute for knowing what the !@#% you are doing. Once you know how to navigate the software, and how to use hotkeys or shortcuts or macros to get work done…the software tends to fade into the background. The whole “being creative” thing should be 99% of the work anyway. As long as “figuring out the software” feels like more than 1% of the effort, it will be (nearly) impossible to actually get something done.

I currently use Maschine to make bits and pieces and Reaper as the DAW to assemble the final product. It works for me, fits my workflow (or maybe I fit my workflow to those tools…), and I know how to use both tools.

I am about to buy Ableton and an APC40…just to play around with them. New toys are always fun.

Propellerhead Reason, been using it over 10 years now. used to rewire it to Nuendo in the beginning but now only use Reason, it bass all that I need and it gets better for every update.

Logic is good cheap and sounds great but I’ve been getting into Ableton a lot lately and arranging a track is way more fun and fast for me. If I was getting into it again from scratch I would grab a launch pad and Ableton.

None of the above when producing. (Cubase 7.5 ftw!)

When on stage it’s Traktor when DJing, Ableton Live for live gigs.

both are brilliant - i tell myself Logic is my main sequencer, but to be honest because of the ease of workflow I hardly use anything but Ableton now
