Magic Mapping Button to switch mappings from one deck to another?
If I map a bunch of effects to work on fx bank 1 & 3 for deck A is there a shift command I can hit that would switch them over to work with effects bank 2 & 4 on deck B?

You can do that, no magic needed. Make a button that switches the value of a modifier and have one value of the modifier correspond to 1 and 3 and the other value to 2 and 4.
Scalage is correct, if you wish to use just one button then all you need is one modifier that toggles between two different values. We don’t have this modifier option in Traktor by default but we can use just a bit magic to create one ![]()
This requires two lines of mapping and should look basically like this:
Add In > Modifier / condition M1=0 / type=button / interaction=direct / value=1
Add In > Modifier / condition M1=1 / type=button / interaction=direct / value=0

Awesome, thanks so much.
Could have sworn I posted this in general but it was late so sorry for making somebody move it.
What forum should I post midi questions in? Thought this forum was for finished mappings.
Looked at the tutorial, what an awesome job that guy did explaining things. Thanks for the link.
So my follow up questions are…
Can I toggle the “shift” key? Seems like I can only hold or direct so now I’m using 2 buttons, one to turn the modifier on and one to turn it off because I don’t want to have to hold it down when I’m twisting knobs for effects.
How can I have the LED stay on the modifier button to show which is active? I understand it’s
add in > midi out > modifier 1
but I’ve clicked everything in there and the LEDs don’t stay on. They come on automatically when I press the button on the korg nano kontroll2 but can’t seem to make it stay on.
unrelated question, how long do moderators have to approve posts for new users?
Thanks so much for your help, believe me I’m really trying my best to answer my own questions by researching and I am getting the hang of it so it’s really appreciated.
Can’t see my post yet since it hasn’t been approved but I’ve figured out how to make the LEDs work on my korg nano kontrol2. The trick was to download their editor and change the LED from internal to external and overwrite the firmware. Then just a bit of messing around with the values which were 1~7 but only work if you choose 0 or 1 for on and off.
Man I’m loving this thing. After spending so much on my Traktor S4 it’s amazing to be able to add so much function with a $30 toy. Using the 8 knobs as “super knobs?” and putting modifiers to make them work for deck A or B.
I’ve approved your posts mate ![]()
Let me know if you have more questions. It’s good to see that you’ve do your homework!
Well done.
Thanks. I have been reading a lot but many times I don’t know what I’m searching for to begin with but I’m getting there.
One thing that I’ve noticed is that the LEDs for the modifiers don’t come on when I power up. I have it set up so my effects are condition 0 for deck A and 1 for deck B. When I press the button for the condition 1 it comes on and when I press the one for 0 it comes on but it doesn’t come on to begin with. The effects still work but I have to switch at least once before they light. Any suggestions?
Your Modifier output command should look something like this:
Controller Range: Min=1 ; Max=1
MIDI Range: Min=0 ; Max=127
Let me know if that helps, also worth mention to set your button mode to ‘Hold Type’ in your editor software.
I played around with those fields but nothing works and the editor only has temp or toggle for choices. Not a real problem, just hit all the buttons before I start playing, takes 10 seconds. Thanks. Have another question but since it’s unrelated I’ll start a new thread.
