I bought a used Midi Fighter Twister and it seems to be stuck.
The MIDI Fighter Utility usually crashes when the Twister is connected. I tried it on multiple computers and also tried Utility version 2.85. When I hold the 4 corners and plug it in, every other encoder ring lights white, specifically knobs 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, and 15. but it doesnt allow me to do anything with that.
At one point, I randomly got the Utility to open while pressing buttons with the Twister plugged in. The device appeared, but when I pressed Update Firmware, it went through the process and then said flashing failed and then crashed again.
I can use the device in abelton, but I cannot make changes in the software.\
The device does show up in MIDI Studio, so it seems like the computer can see it at some level.
Can you confirm whether this is stuck in bootloader mode or has corrupted firmware? I tried to load recovery file but when I hit tools>load custom file, my finder window pops up and then closes.
I can see it connected when it opens but it only stays open for 1 second then crashes.

THIS IS THE LOG
Hey Jake,
The alternating white lights pattern is indeed the unit in bootloader mode. Sometimes if the device had corrupt settings in memory it can have issues with the MFU. In your case the right path to recovery would be “Load Factory Firmware” rather than a custom one since it will also wipe any saved customizations from the previous owner.
Would you mind giving this beta version of the utility a go? One of the changes is how device recovery is handled so it might be able to recover your device.
