while i was at it i thought i might as well get a laptop stand. This one seems cheap. I just want to plonk my laptop on it so when shit gets spillt it is raised up.
Anyone got one? Or recommend one about same price. I searched threads and read reviews on home page but they were out my price range really.
I got one of these recently.. and in the compact set up… I have a xone 92 and xone 2d sitting on a carpeted case lid. Its ALOT more sturdy than the dubstep oddessy wobbler dj laptop stands. Also have a crane stand but dont trust it with that kind of weight on it.
I was describing how wobbly oddessy stands get, atleast the portable one… They wobble around, end up leaning forward. The only way to make them usefull is to swap the bottom leg portion with a normal oddessy stand and use the base and keep the wobbly top which isnt bad if you use hook and loop velcro to secure whatever it is you want to have on it and not fall off when it wobbles down.
It’s actually sturdier than the Odyssey stands. . I got both the regular and M-model (folding). I still don’t use it as much anymore, but the Pro stands are really good.
Road Ready makes similar ones to the Odyssey pro. http://store.roadreadycases.com/dyn_prodlist.php?k=224582
Don’t seem as pricey, but the quality is still there. I have Road Ready Turntable cases. After 14 years, they’re still doing it’s job (Rain, heat, dropped from my truck).
I have the bottom one from Thomaan very good sturdy and i can sit it under a 1210 and holy my laptop at the perfect height to allow me to mix it’s in the picture on this website.
I got an Uberstand - it’s a perfectly good stand. But it’s expensive.
I’m going out today to buy a Millenium laptop stand. The problem with the Uberstand, is that the tiny shelf doesn’t have any room for an audio interface. I can JUST squeeze my U46DJ on it.
The Millenium snand has a large shelf, with an open back, so you can fit a bigger AI on it, and the open back means your cables have space to go into…
ive got this stand. its pretty sturdy, i tried putting my vci-100 on which was fine but if you get abit hyper n energetic while mixing and crossfading tracks, the stand can feel wobbly. i have my laptop on it and its fine, solid as youll ever need and its high enough so can have my vci at the foot of the stand to mix. not the fastest to set up when packed into your bag but its cheap and does the job and for the price you cant argue and will be pleasently suprised.
millenium stand is really sturdy, but takes ages to set up.. And in a club thats just no good (me thinks?) but for home use, if you dont need to take it (heavy too!) then its ok
