Moomahton + Complextro = Moombahcore?
So was just surfing youtube and came up with a few mashups / original songs.. Which definitely were NOT Dubstep or Complextro, and wern’t quite Moombahton either…
Check it out… What are your thoughs??? New subsubGenre perhaps?

edit: nvm, theres been people calling stuff moombahcore from when moombahton first got popular, it just means heavy moombahton im sure.

Its just another piece of music that fits in a wider category.

Why must DJ’s (me included) pigeon hole all types of music.
I guess it is so we can explain ourselves better when we talking styles of music…but its getting seriously over the top.
Well I’m just saying this because it’s so much heavier than normal moombahton- and it’s awesome

Its kind of interesting that I’ve found myself upset about both sides of it. On one side I get peeved about stuff like people calling 4/4 top 40 pop music “house” and at the same time I get peeved when people are upset about all the silly subsubgenres of deeptechdubmoombahstyle.
So basically what I’m saying is that I have nothing to contribute to this discussion but +1post

Where I’m from here in newfoundland most people categorize music as “techno”
Which is funny because its always more so electro/top 40.
I consider what I play “house music” and if anyone asks that’s what I say. I’d rather be more broad in my discriptions than piss of a person well versed in genres.
Its hard to keep up with I find.
The “sound” I look for comes up in house, tech, techno, and progressive. I wouldn’t mind beatport putting another layer on the genre cake
Was wondering this myself. It sounds almost as insulting as the idm genre (intelligent dance music).. I fail to see how you can imply that no electro is complex. Shrug. Kids these days

simple 100 bpm dubstep.. gets more and more attention nowadays.. check koan sound..
Complextro is your progressive house, or generic 128 electro with a phat dubstep style bassline. See Porter Robinson and Zedds- and all of these heavier moombahcore tracks. Their layered with a really fat bassline, with heaps of samples and stuff + extra random synths to become crazy.
